Is that what he said?

His smash factor is awful....do you think that has anything to do with constantly trying to achieve this 300 yard carry?

I didn't even notice the word "carry" in his post. How many times per round would someone actually need to carry something at 300 yards? Approximately zero? Why not shoot for a 400 yard carry?

During a lesson a few weeks ago with a wind in my face i was hitting driver and according to my pro (Jason Eberle) I was flying the ball 280yds. Not a SLIGHT WIND, A PRETTY STEADY WIND, flying the ball 280.

I can smell something.

@ Sean Miller: make less sense, cheers.

So, for the past five rounds I have been measuring my drives using the Golfshot GPS app on my iPhone. I do not know exactly how accurate the "Measure Last Shot" function is, but have no reason to believe it is wildly off since the app appears to give quite precise approach yardages.

Anyway, over those rounds I have hit 77% of fairways off the tee, missed left 20% and missed right 3%. Almost three-quarters of my measured drives ended up between 220 and 240 yards -- so I think that's pretty much my bucket. My home course is currently quite wet and rollout is limited. Might get another 10 or so yards in the summer time.

So that's me I guess. Shortish but straightish.

Then I guess that shortish and crookedish like me isn't a good thing?

The best thing I can say about my game is that I usually recover well, at least when I'm playing a course which allows recovery. My measured drives are usually in the 240-250 range here at a mile above sea level, and even the crooked ones are usually still in that length range. The shorter ones usually involve bouncing off trees, etc.

I don't have a hard time believing that a 4.8 index can hit the ball that far. There's tons of envy on this forum when distances are discussed. It's pretty evident.

not to mention he's 24 yro, he's probably strong and flexible.

I'd like to hit my 3 wood or hybrid all day, but it's hard to let "the big dog" sit there unloved for 4 hours - then when I pull it out, it behaves like a spoiled child trying to get even more attention. Bad dog!!

Yeah, at least I don't have to have that internal discussion on the tee.

Although right now I'm being taunted with a "Add 40+ yards to your drives in only 72 hours" banner ad right beneath this post. **** you, Googlebot!
