Home Course Bars

I was just wondering how many of your home courses have bars at them? I play at a community course, so there isnt a bar at the course It might be the only downside to the course

i've never been to a golf course without a bar. not sure they have any golf courses in the south where you can't find a cold beer at the 19th.

none of our city courses have bars or allow alcohol at all on the course !
is that odd?

I have never yet come across a golf course without a bar, thank goodness.

The clubhouse at my current home course has a very nice one with a patio overlooking the little lake that verges the 18th green, so you can sit there cooling your throat and watching people lose their approach shots to the right into the drink. Nothing better. Only downside is the aggressively panhandling ducks, who will cluster under your table and quack loudly at you until you tip them a few peanuts.

Can't say I've ever had the need of alcohol after playing golf, so I don't mind.

A couple of the smaller courses & municipals near me do not have a bar or sell alcohol. So its BYOB. In Michigan, if the course does sell alcohol, its illegal to BYOB.

Every course I've been to has had a bar with the exception one of course out towards Fall River/Bridgewater. What's nice is at one course (Ludlow, MA) the outside deck of the bar is overlooking the tee box on #1 and green on #18

I have not played all the muni courses in the area but most of them and all have a place you can sit and drink a beer or two (no hard stuff). Most of the non muni courses have a bar, at least the ones I've played and that is a lot. But our DUI laws are pretty strict (.08) with severe penalties so take it easy in AZ on the booze unless you have a designated driver or taxi.

My home course has a couple bars, nothing better after a round then going in to have a draft...or two...or ?

All the local public courses have bars as well...I too thought it was pretty much the norm.

golf without beer is like...fishing without beer?

I can't think of any courses in my area (or that I've played) that don't have a full bar. Tournaments & outings, etc. are such a large part of the revenue base that any course not offering alcohol just couldn't last since the organizers would look elsewhere.

i really wish they put a bar in the club house or somewhere near the golf course... we're not even allowed to bring beers onto the course. they give you a really hard time, so you gotta conceal it very well
