I hit my friends 4DX 3H today at the range and loved the feel and sound of it. Just curious on how the 3DX feels? Any similar?

As you can see, I've got one of each. Love them both, feel pretty similar off the tee or the deck. Both make a nice "click" when hit. 4DX seems to hold up a bit better cosmetically (less paint chipping), but the performance is superb.

I prefer the 3DX slightly better and it could all be in my head...I just bought a brand new 4DX 17 degree 2H with the UST stiff shaft that I am going to sell (just haven't got around to it). It's only seen the range twice, no ball marks, just a couple of marks in the sweet spot of the club face. PM if interested.

I bought all four Nickent 3DX DC's 1,2,3 & 4......sold the 3 & 4 to a buddy and kept the 1 & 2 for my use.....I hit the 2H 195-205 yds and straight down the fairway......it also is my go to club when I am under the trees and need a low punch......can also use it when off the green and the hole is 60-100 feet away.

I have all three models-3dx,4dx and 5dx. I love the 3dx and 4dx! I can hit draws ,fades, hight and low at will. I you want to hit it straight all the time, find a 5dx. With the wings at toe and heel ,goes straight(which isn't all thatr bad.

I played a 3DX for a while last summer. Great club! Liked the feel, sound and look of it. Actually....one thing I really liked was the unique stock grip!

My only criticisim would be that the paint seems to chip pretty easily.

Hy: Callaway FT 3Hy

Irons: AP1 4-PW

Wedges: Vokey 52* & 60*, Mizuno MP-T 10 58*

I got the 3dx new on eBay for $11, so I can't complain. It's a fine club. hits it high like a hybrid should and feels solid. I don't bag it often, but it's every bit as good as my gamers.

I was looking for a Nickent hybrid and was wondering what the difference is between their hybrids and ironwoods.

I believe they are the same thing. An "ironwood" is a hybrid.

I have a 2H 3DX and absolutely love it! It makes a great "chicken stick" off the tee.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I enjoyed my Nickent 3DX "ironwood" very much. I liked the sleek look of the club head shape and the color. I have noticed that there are a few different shaft variations on them, though. So be sure you get what you want. I played a 3hy 3DX and it had a "uniflex" steel shaft. I also picked up a 4hy 3DX (and never played it) that had a ProForce graphite shaft. So be sure you are getting one with the shaft that you want.

I went with the standard graphite shaft (all GolfSmith had). I'm just getting started and was looking for an inexpensive hybrid. I've got 90 days to swap it out so I figure it will work for at least that period if not longer.

They didn't have any in the store, so I went ahead and ordered both the regular and stiff flex. My irons are R, but the fairway woods are stiff, but have an active tip. I'll see how these feel when these come in and keep one of them. Maybe both as they were each about $50.

The 3dx original version was just a hot hybrid. It plays like a hybrid should. I had no problems hitting it, & i'm a higher cap. I also have had a single digit & a canadian tour pro who i played with hit it as well who both nuked it & could exhibit some serious control over their flight.

Of course they both flew it about 45yds longer than me.

It's also got a really great sound & no real hook bias.

    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
