Wow... I watched a Fowler shot from the rear, down the line position, on TV and was struck with one amazing aspect of his swing... he keeps the club above the hands as they work inside about as well as anyone I have ever seen. It was remarkable. With his backswing mechanics, all he has to do on the downswing is shift/turn and fire. He is going to be spot in position to pound away with abandon.

For those who don't get the deep hands idea or the club on plane above the hands so as to avoid being trapped, watch young Fowler. He has some Hank Haney swing tendancies, which I neither admire nor dislike, but boy does he stay in great position on the take away. Some would say it is a unique swing, but all are. In his case, he keeps the angles aligned so that he can fire all the force he wants back into the ball. Amazing. For those who don't think they lay the club inside and under, watch Fowler -- you will see the difference. The first 3/8th of his swing is really nice and sets up why he is so consistent.

My favorite thing about Rickie's swing :

Hurts my entire body just to look at that.

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

I hadn't a clue what you were talking about but looked at his swing on video. I have to say the backswing looks awful and I'm surprised it doesn't result in horrible shots.

If St. Paddy's day is just any other thursday, then yes.

The shoulder turn in that frame is truly remarkable. Imagine if he was taller and stronger, he would hit the ball even farther!

So how long does he swing like that before his body breaks down? Can't see him making that kind of move at 35..
