okay, ive decided thata my current balls, prov1 and the penta give too much spin off the driver. and im not that good of a ball hitter to make them spin back 12 feet with the wedges and irons. having said that, i stop them on the green pretty well but the odd lost one puts a bad taste in my mouth.,
ive been hearing a lot of good things about bridgestone and srixon.
so basically can u recommend a ball that is cheaper, and spins similarly on the green from 100 yards in. and not as much off the driver?

I switched from the ProV1x to the Nike One Tour D. They are basically the same ball, but the Nike is $30 or less while the ProV1x is $45. Those two balls are basically what you are looking for, they provide less spin off driver and irons and about the same spin with >100 yard shots.

I should mention that the Nike One Tour D is a bit higher launching than the ProV1x...but its okay for me because I like to use low loft drivers and stiff shafts.

Putter - Ping D66 (iWi)

No just Nike Tour One D. It MAY stand for distance, but the box just says D. There is 10% more spin on the One Tour...meaning you'll have the same problems if you pick up the wrong box.

not sure what the D stands for but another you might want to try if you want to reduce a bit of spin and add some distance is the Nike One Vapor.

Been playing the Maxfli Tour LC..designed for players with swing speed < 100 mph(like me).......performs similar to the Callaway Tour iX and the Pro V1.......now I'm going to try the Maxfli Tour HT(2 doz for $45 @ Dick's)....which is designed to reduce side spin, similar to the Bridgestone e6.

I also play the TopFlite Gamer V2.......and I am impressed.

performs similarly to the Callaway Tour iX and ProV1 in that....the Maxfli is round and has dimples and goes places when you hit it?

If you want to stay in the Titleist family and want just a bit less spin I'd check out the NXT or NXT Tour.

Neither has a urethane cover so they might do the 'hop n stop' for you as opposed to spinning back like the ProV does.

Bridgestone e6 is my winner....I'm just like the OP, too much spin off the driver and with the ProV1 I lose distance compared to the e6, e7 or prov1x...

I agree with TW. The Nxt Tour has low spin with driver but high spin with irons and wedges.

Try the srixon z star!!! Great ball to me!!!

The problem with the Z-Stars in this case is they seem to be as much as the Pro V1s... If you really like the Pro V1s I would recommend either golfballnut.com or lostgolfballs.com. You can pick up a dozen in mint condition for $22... As an alternative the Top-Flite Gamer V2 is a great ball at $19/dz. Other good balls are at a lower price include the Bridgestone e series, Srixon Trispeed, and Top-Flite D2s.

Hope this helps
