last 4 rounds - 37 (niner), 86, 84, 82, 83
index has gone up from a 2.8 to a 3.4 (Iworked so hard to get under a 3 again...grrr...)
and its not from too much playing but a lack there of

cant break 80- for the life of me now

now I have been trying to play on a few different courses lately and from longer tees
my home course is only about 6750 yds, Par 71, rated @ 71/116
last scores have been on some tough courses

6980 yds, Par 71, rated @ 73.7 / 133 - 82 & 83
7301 yds, Par 72, rated @ 74.6 / 129 - 86 & 84

so some tougher tracks I guess, but still i should be able to break friggen 80
its killing my confidence out there

putting, putting, putting, putting
and stupid arse mistakes every round it seems
today-bladed one over the green after 2 incredible shots (par 5)
two days ago-chunked one 80 yards w a 4i
three days ago-2 3 putts..... it goes on

back to my home course tomorrow for nine
I have a big tournament coming up next weekend, so im trying to take the blah out of the rounds
hopefully this will freshen my mind for playing my home course again.....

maybe my new Odyssey 2 ball center shaft will help!! hahaha!........wheres damn UPS??........
sometimes to help my mental side of the game, ill try switching ball brands
I know ridiculous, but hatever helps

i need to find more time to play i guess.......

You think it's due to lack of playing time? How often have you been playing?

about 3 times a week - 18 hole rounds

a couples weeks ago i was playing everyday and shooting mid to low 70's was no problem

I just went through one much like yours and I can gladly say that it is over until today when I go play again...:)

When that happends to me I try to slow down a bit by taking an extra club and swinging a little smoother... I was going to hit a PW into 18 yesterday but talked myself into a 9 because there was a little wind and I was going to have to smash the 9... I though "why am I going to do that? Just so I can say to my friends that hit a PW when they care, they want me to miss the green!" I'm glad I did because it hit the green and made it by about 3 feet! Birdie for the win!!!

yea im sure my timing is just off a bit

i had a decent last 3 holes (par, par, par) and this is what i did too its funny how one minute your on fire and playing thoughtless golf, then the next minute your cousin is shankapotomus aghh.... im sure it will come back i only have a month and a bit left of golf......then the white stuff will start to fall and it will get cold praying for a "native american" summer.....

I hope you don't take this the wrong way.

Don't you have a newborn at home? It sounds like your mind is else where and as it should be IMO. There are more important things than a golf game. Just keep playing and when you get a little more settled into your routine your mind will come back around to golf.

I am glad I am not the only one who's game is in the crapper. I used up all my good shots on the range. I to have been playing different tracks and having mixed results. One of the problems here is the fact that we haven't had much rain so the rough is about a 1.5" longer than normal but that is only part of the problem. I had a case of the chili dips so bad last round that I could have fed a presidential super bowl party.

I feel your pain brother. Sounds like the exact same thing as my game right now. Month ago I was striking the ball great, putting pretty well, short game was ok. Now, I step up to a putt with zero confidence, ball striking is very inconsistent and thank god my short game is saving me a LITTLE bit. Index went up to a 2.9 last revision and is still on its way up as I had 7 rounds in a row with an average of about 84. Went to the putting green last night and finally felt something right, so hopefully it doesn't last much longer. Got mid-am qualifying Monday, hope its all out of my system.
