Ive used to use a 10* bounce wedge for a long, I finaly changed to a 6* and love it! I play on a very hard links course though so the little bounce comes in handy!

As much as he says he doesn't let the clubhead pass his hands, it does shortly after impact. Freeze frame it and you can see it.

But, overall, I like the video and the bit about bounce is accurate, yes. People almost never have enough bounce. Ask Bob Vokey.

Phil's posture and the look on his face when he was talking about winning the PGA, priceless.

I've got 9* of bounce on my LW, and I used to have 10* on my old one. It's perfect for me, and I would call the flop shot one of my strengths.

I had this discussion on another thread about this exact video and Phil's hands at (and past) impact. He flips the club, and that's not even up for debate.

My Vokey has 8*. I love the flop shot. On PM's DVD, he does the flop shot like above, but keeps his hands moving more toward target than in the video above. I think the swing thought helps you to keep from scooping even if you don't really execute it exactly.

Never bagged a 60 degree wedge in my life. 56 degree, 10 degree bounce and nothing more than that. I hit flop shots with it all the time.... enough for one of my buddies to give me the nickname, "The Righty Lefty." I'm not a Phil fan at all, but I'll take the compliment.

Agreed. My 60.08 Vokey is perfect for flops. In fact, I flopped one straight up in the air this weekend. The back of the green had a severe drop off that was about 30 feet, and I was about 15yards from the green. Stuck it about 3 feet from the hole. Raining golf balls straight out of the sky. I love the flop.

56 seems to be just right for my needs. I carried a 60 for years and the thing stayed clean as a whistle season after season. I am of the mind to master one club for anything under 75 yards. 56 does it for me even thought I am constantly tempted to add another wedge. If I have a super tight lie I will chip with the 50 gap. Only time I am screwed is when I have a super tight lie with no room to work.

I'd love to flop, but my limited practice time is better spent on more common shots.
