Im really hoping Tiger plays well this weekend....What do you guys think about the possible Hurricane warnings headed up to the Northeast? 40+ mph winds should test the players pretty well. I know the Carolina's will get some serious wind today.

yeah, i'd like to see tiger play well this weekend. that hurricane is rather unexpected, especially on the trajectory which it's headed. usually it's us down on the gulf getting all the action.

These kind of hurricanes are never much when they make it to Boston. They end up just being rain showers. Sometimes relatively weak ones too.

I personally don't care if Tiger plays well or not.Be nice to see someone new lift the FedEx Cup.So far it's been Tiger, Vijay, Tiger.I think Dustin Johnson is a good bet.

Those guys actually play during rain showers???

This hurricane actually might influence play with lots of rain and a bit of fury left:

That's the first image I've seen where they have the storm nearing the coast. Apparently the world's weathermen have changed course... As (normally) a MA resident I would be surprised if it is still a hurricane by the time it gets there. If it does hit, from what I hear (and from personal experience playing there after rain) TPC Boston drains well.

tampa? man, y'all haven't had a good hurricane in a while now.

Wunderground (my personal favorite weather service) now has the hurricane missing New England, just maybe clipping Cape Cod. Norton, MA, is far enough away from the Cape that the wind should be much lower and the rain should just be a normal rain shower.

Yeah the last good wave was 2005, and we had 3 that year. I remember renting a Uhaul and picking up everyones cut up tree garbage since the trash man wasnt coming around. We told the people to pay us how ever much they wanted for us to take their tree trash to the dump...me and my buddy made close to $3,000 that hurrricane season, but it was def hard work.

Jason Day playing a good round again after being in contention last week. I'd like to see him win this one. The kids got tremendous talent and a great game.

yea, that kid is SOLID! Personally think he could be solid in the RyderCup, even if doesn't have a ton of wins to his name, he is on the top of leaderboards quite often this year.

Yeah he was a sleeper for me. After he won that one event this past year, I was impressed but didn't think too much of him. I think if he keeps up the momentum from the fedex cup, he'll do real well.

Unfortunately, as for Ryder Cup, he's Australian!

ha, shows how much I know...I always thought you had U.S. team, and then every other player not American was on the European team. I didn't realize I guess Norman was never on the Ryder Cup. wow.

    • I have trouble with vertigo on occasion, but have gotten nutritional and biofeedback tips to keep it at bay. Dehydration can help trigger v-like symptoms so one recommendation, along with maintaining overall hydration, is to start with 8 oz. of water early in the morning. A meta-analysis on Golf As Physical Activity indicated that golf is rated as a moderately intensive physical activity. This scientific literature review came from the University of Edinburgh. The physical activity level ties into hydration. A former university colleague was a marathon runner who had published a couple of articles on endurance training. He likewise said that golf was a moderate physical activity especially when the round stretched past  the two-hour mark. For hydration he recommended switching from water to electrolyte drink on the back nine (past two hour point of exercise) to prevent cramping. At the two-hour point of moderate activity, water starts flushing electrolytes out of the body, which can lead to fatigue and cramping. (I have had trouble with leg cramps in the past during exertion.) During a round, I start out with water on the front nine and switch to sports drink on the back nine. If the day is unusually hot, I may drink 8 oz. of Pedialite concentrate before going to the course. Maintaining overall hydration plus on-course boosters keeps me going.
    • Personally I’d try booking direct first - either via the Vidanta golf reservations number/email or through the resort concierge - especially for Christmas/New Year. Vidanta’s main courses (Greg Norman and Nicklaus designs) are popular and can book out fast this time of year, so direct often gives you the best shot at your preferred tee times.
