And does anyone else here think that Tiger's performance on Sunday is the best thing to happen to him in aeons? Not only was his golf otherworldly, but his temperant was spot on, very calm and collected. Literally some of the best ball striking I've ever seen. Joint top scorer throughout the competition, congrats to him.

His game was fantastic. There are some haters that think he was pretending not to know he'd holed out just for effect, but they're nutjobs.

I wish I would of saw it. I tried to record it but it wasnt listed as the ryder cup but some other program that only lasted 1 hour. My recording literally cut out right with tiger was walking up to his tee shot on the first hole, lol

Definitely enjoyed watching Tiger play on Sunday. Some of the best golf on TV.

his reaction to the shot he holed from his appraoch shot was awesome. "what are they cheering so loud about...?" "what...? it went in?" his laugh with stevie put a smile on my face

I thought Tiger got his ass handed to him Sunday 6&5 (by that nice boy Donald and that overrated hacker Westwood). He was pretty good on Monday, though...

What does my game have to do with anything? If we went by those rules then this board would be empty. Just for the record, you don't know me at all even after peeking at my profile. tsk tsk You can call me all sorts of names, I have big shoulders.

Yeah, being one of the best players in the world he definitely needs the attention. Says more about you than him really.

I wonder if old Ian came out with a tutu with spiked slippers, would you guys defend him to the death? lol

Nice FAIL post.

OMG, like that has never happened on the net before. A few post ago someone called him a tosser. How would that rate on your FAIL post scale? I hope you didn't soil your undies Monday when things got tight. After all, it's only a game and nothing to get worked up about. Hopefully someday in your lifetime, you might see your side atop the all time win list for the Ryder Cup. Until then, keep trying.

Only if it REALLY pissed you off - so take that as a yes, then.

Sine it actually became a match, with Europe against the US rather than just GB&I;, the results have gone:

1979 - US 1981 - US 1983 - US 1985 - Europe 1987 - Europe 1989 - tie, Europe retained the cup 1991 - US 1993 - US 1995 - Europe 1997 - Europe 1999 - US 2002 - Europe 2004 - Europe 2006 - Europe 2008 - US 2010 - Europe So, we have 8 wins for Europe, 7 for the USA and one tie (Europe retained). Bet you long for the good old days when the US (pop: 300 million plus) was able to trounce nations with populations just topping 60 million - a five-to-one advantage. Shame nobody used to come and watch.

Oh I wouldn't be pissed off at all. After all, it's his wardrobe that you would be defending.

I could have sworn that I said Ryder Cup. You just slashed 50 years of history of the Ryder Cup with one fell swoop. So much for the history and integrity of the game. I would have expected better from you.

Don't you think both sides knew what they were getting into when forming the Ryder Cup?

Uh, Johnny Miller or someone called it "a big flare way right." So not very good poetry.

3 yards left from 245....big flare to the right....I dont think so

regarding Overton...It is absolutely ridiculous anyone is giving him crap because he celebrated making an eagle during an important match for his team on rival soil.

The Ryder Cup is BY FAR the most emotional roller coaster of an event in golf, period. Both sides scream, cry, fist pump, chest bump, go crazy, etc...

The only reason Overton's excitement looked "over the top" is because the audio was aimed right at his mouth. The American's needed momentum...he saw an opportunity to show some emotion that could be lifting to his team.

it's like Rickie Fowler on Monday saying his birdie run was inspired by seeing Tiger drain a 50 footer on 13 or something. Players are inspired by each other..why give a guy crap if he has an outpouring of emotion after a fantastic golf shot.

As an American...when I saw him hit that shot and get excited...I got excited, for him and our team.

If some people had their way...the Ryder Cup would be an event you could sleep through. Hit your shot, tip your cap, rinse and repeat. Don't let the crowd show any excitement...it might be over the top.

With you all the way on that, matey. If the mike had been pointed straight at Poulter, it would have sounded like screams from a primordial jungle...

The crowd was boisterous and noisy but good-humoured and fair - even to the Americans! It was tremendously exciting to be there and I think it looked good on TV, too. These 'oh, dear me, this is all very loud' guys - well, maybe it's time for bed, nurse!

Indeed. Had to chuckle to myself at Christina Kim, on twitter complaining about European fans cheering bad American shots. Er.. Brookline anyone? Or, for that matter, The Soldheim cup a few years ago, where Kim's behaviour was questionable to say the least. A little playful cheering for a bad shot pales in comparison to either of those occasions and the European fans were very respectful overall during the Ryder Cup. Urgh.
A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

lmao ...yea not that excited.

Don't worry, that picture of Christina Kim a couple of posts up will cure any excitement you still have left.

    • The chatter in my brain is when the distance is between clubs since I am pretty weak at shortened backswings, etc. I try to simply decide if being long or short is the better outcome and choose my club based on that and simply not even try for the “real” distance.  For me a full normal swing is what I strive for.
    • I saw this comment made in a golf article... "Most golfers stand over a 4- or 5-iron still negotiating with themselves. They think about how hard to swing, whether they have the right club, if they have the aim correct and more. It’s a lot to deal with and long irons punish the “half-in” golf swing." I am not sure the "most golfers" is correct regarding the bolded part. I can understand if there is a bunker, water, and/or OB that a lot of golfers would be fixated on that. I am not sure that leads to ending up more times there. Pending your level in golf, the variance is so large in outcomes, it could be just with in the expected outcomes. I can understand if have a big lake on the right side of the hole being one of the most terrifying shots for right-handed amateur golfers.  I am not sure many golfers are standing over the ball talking to themselves, "Ok, maybe I should step back and pull the 4-iron. Am I lined up right? Oh, the wind came up, should I swing harder? What am I going to have for dinner tonight, maybe steak. (Joking, somewhat 😛)" A question is that how much chatter do you get while standing over the ball. Are you questioning the everything about your golf shot?
