without doing much research on "bounce", i just purchased a "Vokey spin milled tour chrome 60*04* lob wedge" on eBay.

Reading up a little bit AFTER the purchase, it seems like golfers prefer more bounce on their wedges, especially if they have a steeper swing, taking a bit of a divot, which is exactly what i do.

can anyone give me their experience with a 60*04* Vokey lob wedge?

I'm mainly going to use this wedge for greenside shots, and maybe 25-35 yard shots.

Bounce can affect the way the club cuts through the grass by making a nice divot or not one at all and when your faced with different lies a lot its best to go with a medium bounce. I found that I've been more than fine usually and your wedges should all have different bounces. My 52 and 56 are different in their bounce so I can use them both at times for the same shot but depending on the lie I will use one with more or less bounce to get good contact with the ball and not slide right under it.

A lob wedge with that little bounce is a tough club to use properly. You are going to stick it in the ground a lot.

Are there any advantages to low bounce? My 56 has 14 and 60 has 7.

I can see the 60.04 coming in handy in on an extremely thin lie, pure hardpan, or a bunker that is more dirt than sand. Other than that I prefer to have at least 7 degrees of bounce on a wedge.

The Cleveland CG12 wedges have a popular 60.04 version. One guy let me hit his at the range about this time last year. Worked well on scraggly, uneven fall grass.

Some people use low-bounce lob in spring and fall when grass is thin, and switch to higher bounce during the summer.

My 60* has a little more bounce because my course has fluffy fairways.

I owned this wedge and traded it in for the 60/8 version (I think the current model is now 60/7). With the course conditions in South Florida, I found the low bounce version to be more trouble than it is worth. If I lived in a part of the country that has firmer ground, it would have been ideal.

the problem is would be on chip shots, the club would dig instead of sliding on the turf.

It's still a good club though, it'll stop you using it for greenside chips (which isn't necessarily a bad thing)
