I've played for many years without any type of injury. But for the last few weeks my left wrist has been killing me. Only while golfing. I wait a few days, then try again with the same pain. I'm sure nothing torn or broken, but it just won't go away. Anybody else have this injury?

I have had it for years. Flared up bad the last time I took lessons and had gone away for about 6 months and started up again last weekend.

I have no idea what causes it - I do no manual labor for work and spend very little time typing on the computer, but a couple games of Madden on playstation can mess me up for the week.

If you type a lot on a computer, maybe you should check out for carpal tunnel syndrome.
Just my 2 cents.

It could be like a tennis elbow type of deal....I don't know. The only pain I ever seem to get is more along the muscle that runs along the top of the arm...right behind the wrist.

i hurt my wrist playing golf in the beginning of the season some how. it took awhile for it to heal all the way. I would say I played a month with it in pain. The only way it will heal is time and for wrist injuries it takes awhile. I read online it takes like 3 weeks of not putting stress on it and thats about how long it took, but I still played during that tiem

It may be worth seeing someone or try laying off for a couple of weeks or more as posted above and then go back with just a little pitching to start off with and build up gradually to a full on drive. If its something like carpal tunnel then the pain will come screaming back and you will need surgery to get it fixed.

It might be worth checking on line for the symptoms for carpal tunnel to compare to what you have. But I'd vote most likely is basically tennis elbow for the wrist (basically tendonitis in your wrist). I got this very minorly when I was working on not cupping my wrist at the top of the back swing and my wrist wasn't used to the intense action of undoing the hinge from that un-cupped position. If advil, ice, and rest for a couple weeks doesn't work, maybe go see the doc.

I have pain in my left wrist, I stopped going to the range recently as I was happy with my game and wanted to just play on the course, I then realised I had not had any wrist pain for a while

I went on the range to work on something this week and the pain has returned slightly, so I think mine is an impact injury due to the fact we only have mats at the local range I use.

I had a pain on my left wrist, pinky side, under the bone. I only hurt while golfing as well. At first it only hurt after a swing but eventually started hurting during. I did some research and found 2 possibilities. I cant remember the names...but it was a tendon that got inflamed. Ibuprophen helped. As quick as it appeared it went away. I still have flare ups but never as bad.

You could look into what I've heard called "Golfer's Elbow" (opposite problem of Tennis Elbow).

Also, you could look into the possibility you have a cyst in your wrist. I have cysts in both my wrists and while I'm fine 90% of the time, I'll experience pain in my wrists if they are inflamed. Bad inflammation can last many days and taking it easy for a couple days won't necessarily fix it, so the symptoms match what you describe. I accidentally inflamed my right wrist this year and couldn't golf for a little under two weeks, and that was after a few days of steroids. Cysts (I have Ganglion, specifically) can be annoying.

    • Starting over - missed posting yesterday and it had been less than 28 days since last off day….today was tempo drill day.  Worked on takeaway and moving smoothly into weight shift.
    • I know it is probably dependent on a lot of factors, but how windy does it have to be out before you need to start guessing on how much it would influence the break of your putt?  When I played at Bandon, it was like 25-30 mph winds. The caddies talked about the wind negating break. The only time I had it visually influence my putt was on hole 18 at Bandon Dunes. My missed my putt on the high side of a pretty severe breaking putt. The slope around the hole was in the 2-3 degree range. As the ball was about to come to a stop, the wind gusted and pushed the ball half a rotation into the cup.  The rest of the week I thought it had no influence at all. I was thinking, is it just over thinking to try to account for the wind?
    • Day 310 - 2025-08-06 Went downtown in the late afternoon and got nearly two hours of work in. Not a ton of breaks. Was blasting the TS at the end, from a HomePod and two TVs. 😄
    • I watched this video of his last night: I don't hate him like @boogielicious apparently does and thought this was a pretty good premise so I gave it a shot.  Not the worst thing in the world and I especially liked the premise.  He's got a lot of air to fill by himself, which he isn't great at, but in doing so, you get some decent insight into how his brain works while setting up shots/putts.
    • So driver is longer than all the other clubs and gear effect plays a bigger part with driver than anything else. If you're hitting it out of the heel it could slice even if you have the face square. Could try some foot spray or impact tape and check that. Other thing is if the shaft is different in how it flexes or how flexible it is it could be affecting your swing somewhat. Driver also has the straightest face, so while with a 4 iron it might fade, with driver that can wind up being a slice with the same face angle at impact.
