so I'm working on keeping my right heel down through the swing and only moving onto the instep and I must say this is a hard thing for me to do. I can keep it down alot more than before but not enough. Anyone else struggled with this ?

As you probably remember I sat with James as we did your last evolvr analysis, and there are a few things you can do to help with this. I'll give you two to start.

Put a ball on the instep of your right foot and try to push the ball forward or roll your foot forward to push the ball. Stack two buckets like this to prevent your knee from pushing in towards the ball: Just feel the heel staying down. See what you can come up with as well.

Erik, what are those two buckets stacked on each other for?

I'll quote myself: "stack two buckets like this

I struggled with this and iacas's advice helped me.

You don't need to be on the range to ingrain the feeling.

I practiced the motion without a ball, with a club at home while watching TV for two weeks everyday and it started to take and I didn't have to think about it.

You can accomplish more than you think away from the range.

Yep, very good drill. Easy to setup and a good visual. The drill can also be done at different speeds and good for 40yrd pitch shots. Only need to do it about a billion more times and I should have it!
This is one I tried today, similar purpose

yea thats true. This is a good drill. When I was at the range before I saw this video I remembered to try the driveway stick through the front belt loops. That helped but it was kind of dangerous for my club because I could of broke the shaft (i was using driver) if I hit the stick coming down so I only hit a couple shots like that, the ones I did hit were good though.

That's typically a bit of a different drill - turning your hips on the backswing and not spinning them open right away on the downswing.

It could help with the heel but perhaps only as a byproduct - not a direct result.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
