Holy smokes!

Looks like they've taken the Mizuno shaft optimizer principle and turned it into a potentially amazing instructional tool.

Looks interesting, but I don't understand how it would be able to detect things like club head angle and impact position. If I top the ball, is it going to see that? How?

Seems pretty much like holding a Wii Remote, and that isn't exactly accurate. I'll be interested to see some reviews when it comes out.

Not only vaporware, but sounds expensive.

"It stores this info until you get back to the clubhouse, whereupon you fire up the companion iPhone app and transfer the data via Bluetooth."

It's an iPhone.  Why do you need to head back to the clubhouse?  It's a mobile app.

I guess neither of you two guys who replied besides iacas cared to watch the second video? It uses an attachment to your golf club which transmits data to your phone/ipad/ipod via bluetooth and the app transfers the raw data into a three dimensional image of your golf swing.

Didn't mean to come across as negative. It's a great concept, but my point still stands. Why the need to go back to the clubhouse? It's an advertising opinion I'm putting forth, not the app itself. It's an advantage to *not* have to go back to the clubhouse. Even in the demo, the analysis was done right then and there. There's no desktop app and not a need for one based on the app visuals. Also notice in the video how fast after the swing the swinger moved to get the device close to the iPhone. Obviously, the range is limited. I think for the demo, they didn't want to put the iPhone in their pocket, but leave it on the bag, so not a big deal. If I were using it, I'd put it in my left pocket because that's where my club would drop to after the swing and the device would be plenty close to the iPhone. Anyways, if it works as demoed, if the price is reasonable, it seems like a poor man's Trackman. Maybe I'm just cynical after seeing so many overpriced training aids. The devs look like they know what they're doing, so I guess the price should be fair. Irregardless, kudos to the developers. That's an impressive app and I'd definitely demo it and buy it if the demo goes well.

I think it's intent was to say you didnt have to load it up after every swing, such as when you're out playing a round, you can use it and it stores the information until you get back to the clubhouse. The range from the phone doesnt have anything to do with why he moved so quickly, as it stores the info in the device itself, then uploads the data to the phone via bluetooth whenever you're ready. It looks like a great tool, and if it's not too overpriced, I'd definitely consider getting one. Of course, the guys said it was a beta, so it might not be the same as the version they are intending to sell.

If it were me, I'd want to look at the results after the swing, while it's fresh in my mind but also after the round for those really funky swings.

With slow play nowadays, there's plenty of time and even during normal pace, there's enough time to look during a round.

If the device has memory to remember swings, then it was not demonstrated in the video.  That guy was moving very fast to get the device next to the iPhone. I guess they still have some work to do.

If it had memory enabled, I'd do a demo by making three swings, plain, open, funky and then replay them back to back.

The app really uses every bit of the iPhone's processing power though, looks like.

A lot of potential, I'd say.

Definitely looks like a very rough cut, but the tech itself has already proven itself with this demo as far as I'm concerned.  Seems like they just need to work on some convenience features like nevets is getting at.

Wonder how different/accurate what they're doing is to what is possible with a Wii Remote with Motion Plus on it.

If this worked as advertised and they ironed out some kinks, I'd buy it for sure.
