6 Rounds of Golf
Top 25 get their tour cards.
Lots of pressure!

I've never paid too much attention to it before, but there a couple players I'm watching this year.

Does someone know what the CC or the PL means at the end of the names on the PGA page http://www.pgatour.com/qschool/leaderboard/

6 Rounds of Golf

It refers to the course they are playing. It's at Orange County National in Orlando, FL this year. I'm happy to say that I played a round there once in Feb.2009 on a golf trip, but I was so terrible at that time, it wasn't the most fun vacation. Well, it was fun, but it obviously was pretty painful out on the course due to all the terrible swings I made.

CC is Crooked Cat, the easier of the two courses. PL is Panther Lake, the harder of the two. I played PL and it was definitely an intimidating place, even though I pretty much played it from the forward tees. I love Q-School. Easily the most underrated tournament of the year IMO. So intense.

Saw a lot of great shots at Q-school today!

Hoping Jason Gore makes his way back to the tour.

I recorded yesterday's coverage and deleted it after about 30 minutes. It's just too painful to watch these guys take 2-3 mins to line up a 4 foot putt.

I read Feinstein's Q-School book a while back - I knew the pace of play was slow and they hate to put guys on the clock, but geez... Even with a DVR the play was just too slow to watch.

Is there a link to watch the final round of q-school? I'm interested in watching a few guys but I'm stuck at work. Especially want to see how some of the guys right on the number handle themselves down the stretch. Tried channelsurfing but I can't find a link and the golf channel website isn't working for some reason. Thanks.

I actually didn't seem to notice the longer routines much, but I only caught a portion of it yesterday. The Top 25 list is pretty intruiging, but I've never heard of most of the guys who made it. The only names I vaguely recognize are Richard S. Johnson, Justin Hicks, James Driscoll, Joseph Bramlett, Paul Stankowski, Kyle Stanley, Jarrod Lyle, Cameron Tringale, and of course, Billy Mayfair (medalist honors).

And Tales from Q-School is great. Orange County National is a pretty cool place from what I remember.

Watched most of the coverage on Monday. It was painful to watch several players just miss out on making the PGA cut line. One fellow, can't recall who, missed a two footer on the last hole to miss the cut by a stroke. Another tour player, Jeff Quinney, bogied several of the last holes to just miss out. Hit some really bad shots coming in. After 6 rounds, it came down to the last couple of holes, in cold and windy conditions, to make or miss the cut. It was captivating, with much more at stake for these guys than the usual PGA tournament, with millionaires playing for another million dollars.

Ben Martin, Michael Thompson, and Billy Horschel all had great college careers. It will be interesting to see if they can take their games to the next level like Fowler. I always thought Michael Putnam would do better on the PGA Tour, but he struggled during his first attempt. He qualified for the PGA Tour by finishing in the top 25 on the Nationwide Tour and Q-School, so hopefully he will live up to the hype he had a few years ago.

Congrats to Billy Mayfair - who is 44 yrs. old? - I thought they said.

Is it just me, or does he look old enough to play on the Sr. Tour?

I am glad someone posted about Q-school, because I am new to golf and wondered how Q-school worked. I hear it a lot on the golf channel.
