Ha, is DaSportsGuy mad that you knocked out Muirfield Village? So now he's taking it out on your course? I've played MVillage. It sucks. Oakmont may be the best U.S. Open course there is, period.

You have an unfair advantage. Like most people I'm going by how a course looks on TV and the liklihood of ever playing it. Until this year's US Women's Open coverage, Oakmont always looked ridiculously difficult (i.e. tricked up) and extremely boring. The women's coverage this year was fantastic - I'd love to play there. On television Muirfield looks fantastic and Augusta looks flat and boring. Like I said - TV is misleading.

"Phil" might be one of the few guys around that's played all of these courses. I've played Muirfield Village, Oakland Hills, Oakmont, and perhaps one or two others (maybe?), but Oakmont requires thought on every shot - including putts.

Muirfield Village, is not a thinking golf course. Too many times you just hit it to an incredibly wide fairway.

I think doing golf courses is a stupid way to go, and the results (i.e. the lack of voting) speaks to that. 90% of the courses on the list are either not seen on TV or are seen on TV only set up as a U.S. Open course or only set up as a regular PGA Tour event or whatnot.

I don't see this contest really going anywhere. It's very different than one centered on players like the one we had before. I don't even know much about the majority of the courses on the list. How can I vote for or against them?

I've never even played any of these courses and I've almost single handedly voted out two of them (including the home of the The Masters? What? I'd give my left nard to play there!). How is that even remotely fair?

I'd suggest a Major championship twist - what is the best (toughest, most prestigious, whatever) championship course in history. Hazeltine (the first time) anyone?

It's not "fair" per se, but it's just a game. Hell, I just booted Murfield Village and I've never been inside 200 miles of the place. I think a thread like this about different brands would be fun. Maybe all the brands that this site has smilies for?

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

Can we just crown Titleist and/or Scotty Cameron king now? Maybe throw in Scratch and Mizuno as the other semi-finalists?

Thought about it last night, and see no point in playing this game. The lack of posting by others indicates they feel likewise and, unlike me, knew it from the start. :-P I'm opting out.
