I always try to help from what I can see and enjoy adding some wisdom . First off keep doing what your doing with the fundamentals but I have a solution for your wedges and irons for better feel and it's to get a hold of some cheap ladies flex clubs preferably 7 iron to pw maybe a hybrid. This will put your swing into a spectrum you didn't know you had and it's one of the best practice aids I can think of. You seem to be serious about your game but are going just about 100% on all of your shots. The ladies flex clubs literally won't allow you to do so all of the sudden you will throttle back out of necessity your positions angles and everything your working on will improve 5x as fast and you will develop feel. Once your grooved go back to your clubs and see the magic..

Updated chip and pitch videos from my Evolvr analysis...

Sorry did this at lunch and didn't get a chance to review before realizing the camera was too close.

After I changed my address standing taller and raising the handle higher I was hitting the pitches off the toe a little. Then I noticed that's exactly where I had it lined up on the club face. Duh.

Maybe stand a little farther away to give hands more room? @iacas?

A little. An inch or two is all you likely need there.

Working on my putting setup from my Evolvr analysis. Moving the ball position up 1-1/2 balls forward. I setup where I used to, then placed two balls in front of that and remove one ball, then setup with weight more on the left leg.

Actually worked pretty well and did not feel that uncomfortable.

Sorry @iacas totally forgot about trying to keep my head from coming up. Will get a video of that the next time.

This is my take on the "making a 30ft back swing and only making the ball go 5 feet drill" I read somewhere on this site. :-)

Really gives a great feel for not accelerating into the ball.

Yes, just take that feel then and have the appropriate time/length backswing. The "not accelerating" thing is sometimes taken to extremes where people have to make HUGE backswings with a really slow tempo just to hit the ball anywhere.

I plan to make a video on these "two ways to hit the ball farther (with your putter)" soon.

Excellent.

Everything else in the setup look okay, ball position, weight left, lean left?

Yes. Let the weight go with your whole body, not just your hips. Very subtly you did a bit more hips than "whole body," I think.

Latest video of me doing the "rotate open drill" at a speed and length that I am actually open when I hit the ball.

The best I've done to date.

Same with Driver.

Latest practice session.

Still working on rotating open thru impact. Which I will be working on for the rest of my golfing life. :-D

Noticed on the Face On view that my hips were translating too much to the right in the backswing.

Worked on feeling the hips moving 6 inches to the left during the backswing.

TOP.JPG

Better. Also gives me better axis tilt as well. Have to keep an eye on that.

That much translating left causes timing issues, especially with the longer clubs.

Looks good Jim! Getting better all the time.

One last little thing to try to feel, see if it works… Rotate your left knee out and left earlier and more in the downswing. Should help pull the hip around with it.

Thanks Erik. I'll work on that feeling of the left knee rotating out and left earlier.

I'm sure I'll have it down by tomorrow nights league round. :-D

Hey Erik,

Well that feeling didn't work at all. Most of my shots were starting out just to the right of my target and falling left. Nice divots after the ball.

How am I supposed to play like that? ;-)

Thanks man. Not sure how it looks on video, but the results sure were good.

Bummer.

I can see how that would be unusual and not at all a comfortable or typical way for you to play golf.

Oh well. On to the next thing. ;-)

Well @iacas, that left knee torquing thing is still not working at all.

In all seriousness, this downswing thought for me is really working well for the 2 days I've been using it. Haven't let it go 100% yet, but the quicker I torque it the farther and straighter it goes.

I'll get some video this weekend to see what I'm actually doing.

As far as the round goes. Kept everything in front of me. All my missed greens were just off the fringe. Except for the 18th hole. I tried to hit a smooth 5i up hill about 187 yds and I executed it well until it came up 25 yds short. Umm I didn't think I smoothed it that much...look down, it was my 7i...duh. The ball was above my feet so I didn't notice it. The only other time I've done that was in 1997. It was a 6i instead of a 9i. Ball was above my feet there as well.
