JetsKnicks, I didn't want to mention the band name since they still tour but here's a hint begins with S ends in X and rhymes with Knicks

Jetsknicks LOl,LOL---me thinks some of those OB shots were on purpose, plus at the time the OB rough at Falcon Head was cut short and made for a good second approach

But if it's OB, you can't play the shot from there. You have to take a penalty and play from the spot of your last shot. So, their scores weren't legitimate.

Looks like I'm the lone dissenter.  I haven't paid any attention to this in a long time, and I'm sure the research has improved, but...

Back when I was an active pilot about 15 years ago, a study was published in one of the pilot mags about how long pot had an effect.  They measured both blood level and performance, and found that it was about 72 hours.  Since one of the effects include time and distance distortion (stoned drivers drive too slow), and it also can effect your coordination, it doesn't surprise me at all that it screwed up your game the next day.

So, enjoy the weed, but probably not the night before a tourney or a money game.  Save it for skiing!

On the other hand, if Dock Ellis could pitch a major league no-hitter while tripping on acid (look it up), maybe we should be able to play through it.

True that, but lets paint the picture, wasn't a serious game, I was only keeping score so as to work on improving my game, and to post into the course computer. it was a weekday, they were wearing jeans and parachute pants and I'm sure after the 18, even their cart was floating a foot off the ground. so yeah, I'm thinking some of the strokes they gave me were ----less than accurate, and I'm sure they didn't care.

But fun day none the less.   And as a side note --my round was horrible.

    • I haven't run the ShotScope yet, but I played 18 today.  I hit a great drive on 6 and then, holes 7-17 (excluding par-3s) I hit some very uninspired drives.  Then, after hitting on 17, I realized I'm over-swinging.  So at 18, I took a practice swing with the drill I've been doing during practice shots at home the past few weeks.  Then I decided, one more practice swing, but you know, with the ball right there. So I did.  I didn't even hit it at full speed.  It resulted in a nice high draw and settled onto the fairway.  To put it simply:  if the rules allowed me to place the ball anywhere in my reasonable shot zone as that tee shot, the spot I would have chosen is where it ended up.  I went on to hit two more good shots (it's a par-5) and left myself with a 7' birdie putt.  While I missed it, that drive is going to stay in my head for a very long time.
    • Day 59, June 25.  Played 18 today.  I'll tell a story on the "best shot of the week" thread that makes me think happy thoughts.
    • Day 631 - 2026-06-25 Long day, but stayed a bit to get fifteen minutes of work in. Foam balls. Throwing the back of the club behind me.
    • Day 5 (25 Jun 26) - continued drills w/7i, hard foam balls focused on “nipping the tee below the ball” to reinforce consistent face contact.  Hit about 40 shots total.
    • Day 294 6-25 Low point control with towel. Then hit some foam balls with flow drill. Recorded.
