Anyone have a club in your bag that you never use?

I don't have one I never use but I rarely use my sand wedge.  Not many courses in my area have green side bunkers and I rarely use it from any where else.  My goto chipping/pitching club is a 52* wedge.

Since I added a 2 iron hybrid to my bag, I never hit my 3 wood. Like someone else said, I'm looking at replacing it with a more "fairway friendly" sand wedge. I love my sand wedge but struggle with it on full swings. I hit enough quality shots with it to justify carrying another club in a similar loft

I never really use my 5 wood or SW. Sure enough... I will take them both out and need them the next time I play.

Yes, my gap wedge.  I am probably getting new irons soon.  So when I recently rplaced my SW and LW I increased the loft difference to 6 degrees. The gap to my GW will probably be 5 or 6 degrees

But on a different course I bring all 14.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing this year. My new club (played there many times - just never been a member) plays 9-hole matches. There's no need for a driver on the front 9. I've tried to imagine a scenario where perfectly struck driver doesn't go through the fairway on the long holes - not happening - so on Wednesdays I'll try to have the courage go with just 3-wood, 3-iron, etc..The back 9 has 5 driver holes, so on the weekend the driver goes in the bag.

In my old set of irons, I rarely used the 60* LW. Uphill bunker shots and downhill chip shots off chocolate-drop mounds was about the only occasion. (Like 4 times a season).

Several years ago I played on a lot of dense, moist bermuda in Dallas area, and it worked OK - but I had to practice a lot. But off of dry close grass in Oklahoma, and bluegrass in Missouri, it never really worked. Got to where I would practice with LW one hour per season just in case.

Now, I wish I could carry 15 clubs. 4i will get dropped unless I decide to go back to 3 wedges.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I have a cheap crappy 56* John Daly SW...

I Dont use it in traps I use my Cleveland 60*....  Literally the only thing I use it for is hitting off of:

A Pile of Rocks

A Pile of Sticks

Hardpacked Dirt/rocks

Water

Cartpath

etc...

That way im never worried about damaging my club if I wind up in a bad spot like that and I need to make a shot.

Good luck finding a TM Burner Plus Sand Wedge - I play them too & searched EVERYWHERE for about 6 months until one finally came on eBay & paid too much because I had to have it.    The factory sets never come with a sand wedge & all I can tell you is that they do exist ... you have to keep your eyes & ears open.    So many guys are looking for them, they go for top dollar whenever they surface ...

Same here - thats why I just picked up a 58° to gap up from my sand wedge - much easier & more forgiving than a 60°

I find it surprising that many say they don't use a SW.  I only use mine for bunker play, but I wouldn't be caught on the course without it.  I could use my 51° from the sand, and I do for those 30-50 yard bunker shots, but my 54° Vokey is my go-to club for greenside bunkers.

I only have 12 clubs in my bag but i only use my 56 deg wedge from the sand and finally have realized i can only hit my 3 wood off the tee. I can hit it about 200 yards teed up and there are a few longer par 3s in my area in that range that i use it for.  I finally took out my 2 hybrid and my 5 wood, never could hit either one of them very well, I usually would carry either one or the other but finally decided to relegate both of them to the spare bag.  So I've streamlined my bag down to clubs I actually can and will use whenever distance dictates that particular club.
