Very true, I do agree with you. I will definitely do that once I know what the heck is going to happen at work. I have a meeting on Tuesday and we will decide what the next step is from there once I visit the area.

I'm not sure why you are asking for advice since you have already decided what to do and reject all of the (excellent, IMO) advice you are getting from people who have navigated credit more successfully than you have.  But, to each his own.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Some thought I meant that I needed debt relief or debt counseling, which I don't. What I was talking about is credit repair, which yes, I can do myself, but with the schedule I have it's very tough to manage that into my personal time. If you read my last post, I totally agreed with NewtoGolf where he said I should try to get prequalified for an FHA loan and then figure out what I have to do from there. I definitely wish I would've navigated my credit a little bit better, but hey, do you know my story? Nah, so I suggest you save your time posting stuff like that to increase your post count, without knowing exactly what the other person's circumstances have been. I obviously care, and am asking for advice, and I took everyone's post seriously, as this is a very serious matter to me.

My only piece of advice would be to get your credit scores and dispute all the negative accounts. They have 30 days to respond and if they don't it's taken off. It doesn't always work but I've heard of people doing it with some or a lot of success. If it was me I'd pay off the debt and get the score up then buy a house. The housing market is not going to go from bust to boom so you will have time to find a great house at a great price.

So I have finally decided to move to Tampa. And spoke with a few mortgage brokes who took a look at my credit report, and all said I Was doiing the right things and could own a house within a year or less. I am going to sign a lease with an apartment complex, and go from there!! Thanks to everyone who put in their advice, I can honestly tell you that everyone's advice helped, and this experience changed me as a person. All I think about now is how I can get financially debt free and live a better life with my family, so thanks to everyone.

And so with that I expect to see you out on a course somewhere in the Tampa area this spring right?

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

You assume correctly. I will be needing assistance as I'm not sure where the good courses are down there.

Good Luck Danny, I'm glad things are working out okay for you.  Tampa is nice, year round golf, I'm jealous.

    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
