Went to a local demo day today and hit several new irons.  Tried the Adams Black CB2's and loved them.  The feel is great and I was hitting them very good.  The Adams rep put me through a fitting and recommended 1* flat and the KBS Tour 90 shafts in stiff flex.

I have always played reg flex in my irons, currently have Titleist 775's with the NS Pro 100's (Nipppon shaft) in reg flex and also Titleist AP2's with Project X 5.0's.  Will be trading the AP2's in on the CB2's.  When I questioned him about the stiff flex, he said that because the KBS are so much lighter I can hit the stiffs.  Anyone ever heard of this?

I will say that I hit the stiff clubs great, ball flight looked good, distances were as good if not a little longer, and dispersion was good.  Just a little apprehensive about ordering clubs with stiff shafts after playing reg for so long.

Yep, what he said makes sense. In a nutshell, the shaft industry sucks because there arent any standards. What I mean by that is that one brand's stiff might be another ones regular. It can even differ between various models from a single manufacturer. So yeah, it's riduculously confusing. If you were hitting them that well, I think you should jump on what he recommended.

Also, as he told you, weight plays a part in this as well. You're going to swing a lighter shaft faster which may in fact step you up to the next flex profile. It's all based on swing speed. And, well, other things too, but swing speed is the biggest factor

Thanks for the info.  Didnt think about the lighter weight and it didnt feel like I was swinging them that much faster, but maybe I was.
