Devil's advocate: When you think about it, that's really what we try to do with our iron sets. Take a base model and then tweak a couple parameters in small increments until the full set is formed. Granted it's a lot more than tweaking the loft, but if golf had been invented in modern times I can see players simply carrying their iron club, which then then adjust to the specific situation. Granted you wouldn't want to use it for putting and driving as well. It's funny, but somewhat sensible. Again, I could see a modern-invented golf game having equipment adjustable in a way like this. Those players would laugh at how much material we waste carrying nearly 10 semi-adjusted hard copies of the same club.

"Golf is an entire game built around making something that is naturally easy - putting a ball into a hole - as difficult as possible." - Scott Adams

This gadget idea is not new. I heard about a similar club about 20 years ago.

The thing that seems interesting is the retractable shaft (so it can fit it in your suitcase). I‘m curious if it can be extended a longer length for when you have it set for driver as opposed to sand wedge. I’m also curious what sort of feel a retractable shaft would have. Talk about a wacky kick point.
Bear in mind, I’m not $200 curious.

"The 33-In-1 Golf Club - A gear system inside the heel tilts the clubhead in 1/2-loft increments, allowing golfers to choose from five putters, two drivers, three fairway woods, 14 irons, or nine wedges with the twist of a dial. "

Now, you need to find a ball where you can peel off the cover to expose fresh dimples, and can emit an audible tracking signal when lost, and your set's complete.

I played a round some years ago with an elderly man who had some kind of that stick. His game was all for fun and he didn't care about the score. Just walk the course, enjoy the weather and have a walk.

For 9 holes, or if you're on a business trip and just want to get in a casual round of golf without having to travel with yours or rent a set, it looks like a perfect solution to me.

just my 2 cents...

Wouldn't it not be legal to use though, seeing how you would be "changing the playing characteristics of the club" during the round?   Just curious.......

Most definitely illegal. But, I doubt the person using it is going to be involved in tournament play or turning in scores for handicap. As one of the other members said, just for whacking a ball while enjoying a stroll on the course.

As long as 100+ years ago adjustable Irons were quite popular. Back then technology had not taken golf as far as it has now and the difference between and adjustable and your normal set of irons was minimal. Many of them were quite clunky but a man names Urquhart made one that was quite successful his patent dates from 1895. This also gave you a lot less to carry, which in turn made a caddy expendable. The story goes that they were eventually banned by the R & A at St. Andrews in part because of pleas of caddies.

I've seen these in airplane mall catalogs.  Wonder if anyone has tried using one of these in a three club tournament.
