He is one of the more down to earth guys on tour IMO. Always very thankful to the crowds, doesn't ever freak out or go over the top. He's the man!

He has always been one of my favorite Golfers but after this weekend I think he is number 1 to me.

I gave him the nickname "Rage Kage" last year to make fun of how calm and collected his personality is.  I was watching Sunday with my Fiance and kept saying "Let's go Rage Kage!!"  My fiance looked at me and said "he really doesn't seem like the type to have a temper"

He did seem like he was having fun on Sunday

The way K.J. interacts with the crowd, and especially kids, really impresses me.  He seems like a genuinely great human being.  This just further solidifies my opinion of him.

He always seems to be a pretty consistenty good players. Not talked about enough IMO in the world of Rickie's and Rory's. Plus he always seems to be up there on the leaderboard on sundays.

He gave a whole bunch of cash to the Japan Relief Fund as well.  He is a very likeable player.

I don't know when i started liking him but i did a few years ago.  It was a combination of his game and interaction with the crowd that won me over.

And its weird, when people ask who i like on tour i hardly ever say KJ.  Its usually phil, rickie, Bubba, etc.  But i always find myself rooting for KJ on sundays.  I have to start telling people i like him too.

My buddy's dad met him while volunteering at a PGA event practice round. Said he was the nicest guy out there.

Another cool thing about Rage Kage was the first thing out of his mouth in the post round interview was affirming his belief in Jesus Christ.

While I don't consider myself to be a Christian it is pretty special to see a man not afraid to proclaim his Faith first thing, after one of the most important professional events so far in his career.

Rage Kage is a special man indeed...

I'm sure that "Choi's Bois" membership is increasing.  Really enjoy watching him play, and how well he handles his business.

Nuck, I agree with you. In today's society, many people think it is not PC to discuss anything dealing with religion in public for fear of offending someone. I was glad KJ was not afraid to state his belief in Jesus!

KJ has a quality no one can ever take from him, and something I wish more would aspire to have...  He is a classy person.  It only takes a little more to be first class and he does it quietly and well.

    • I have one in my bag. I put it in there for travel purposes, so if my clubs wind up not where I am I can find out where they are and hopefully get them back more easily. It now stays in there. I'm generally not too concerned about them going walkabout like this - I don't leave them unattended. I was one time at Bethpage waiting to sign in when someone came out shouting if anyone had seen their clubs since they had disappeared while they were signing in. I now leave them in my car until I'm done with signing in and go get them afterwards.
    • Just listened to episode 19 on grip strength. Very interesting stuff. I missed what the long drive competitors grip strength is, but presumably very high.  I suspect that part of the correlation between grip strength and speed is that general body strength is likely correlated well with club head speed and it's difficult to do a full body workout without going to town on your grip. Deadlifts are frequently recommended as a good exercise to do for golf and for a lot of people grip strength is the limiting factor on what they can deadlift. Doing deadlifts will improve your grip strength, so quite plausibly grip strength and club head speed are both caused by making yourself stronger.  Do you have any charts about how grip pressure changes through the swing? I'd be interested to see that.  Lastly, last week I played a tournament round and as I played was thinking about my grip strength and I noticed I was gripping it pretty hard. Then I realized after the round (I did not play very well at all) that I had been very tense throughout my body and I'm now wondering if that tension is the cause of my poor play. I have five tournament rounds and three casual rounds in the last three months. tournament rounds are 84, 81, 80, 81, and 81. Casual rounds are 71, 70, and 72. I wonder if that's caused by tension making it past my wrists. That's a long way of saying the last little bit Erik added rang true with me.  Great episode!
    • Let's go Rors   Justin Thomas' stupid little button-down sweater with the bottom button undone is stupid
    • Eric, Man, I'm sorry. This video is just too damned boring. I don't know what's going on like half the time. I've tried to watch it a couple of times but I get like 5 to 10 minute in and realize I'm thinking about what I'm going to make for dinner or if I should do laundry on Saturday or if I should do it on Sunday. Then I try to restart it and pay attention and my mind wanders again.  I just can't get through it. Sorry, man.
