Hey just upgraded to the Adams a7 set and I have been practicing alot with the Hybrids(These were the reason I bough a7 opposed to burners).

I found that my 3h goes as far as my Driver and the mishits are about 10-20yds off where as a driver mishit could be 50 yards off. When I swing my driver it feels a bit of a wet noodle and I feel like im fighting to have a square face when it connects with the ball.

When I swing 85-100% with driver it always balloons and slowly hooks pretty sharp at the end of its ball flight. When I swing easy 60-70% I hit a big push everytime. Does this mean that I likely need a S Flex on my driver? I mean getting 220 out of hybrid and driver makes me wonder if somethings not right with my swing or with my driver.

I believe my 8i clubhead speed when I was testing the adams was around 75-85mph I cant actually remember sorry.

Subject could also be Driver as Short as 3H ....... 220 with the Hybrid is quite good.......

A stiffer flexed driver isn't the solution, pushes come from a good swingpath but with a open face at impact, if you can just close it 2 degrees more, it might be a good drive.

Two easy adjustments ...... close the face 2 degrees before taking your grip and turn your left hand a slightly more over the grip, turn your right hand also into a stronger position, swing normal inside-out and at your driver ss of about 95-100 mph ...... count on 240 - 260 yds. middle of the fairway !

If you hit the ball Directly on the sweet spot, at the same swing speed with a 3h and a Driver. The driver will go further every single time.

That leads me to believe that you are not swinging full speed with the driver or are not hitting the sweet spot almost at all.

Only other option would be that your driver is around 38 inches long...

Yes I'm Aware That's 16 Clubs!

Pretty close to the same problem here -- Hell, within a couple yards, even.

I played a tournament a couple weeks back, with GPS in the carts (Amusing:  It took my cart partner and I a few holes to realize this.  Up until #4 we were standing around going, "Looks like about 150!", oblivious to the high-tech gadgets in the cart.)

Anyway, 3 hybrid: from 210-219

3 wood:  from 227-238

Driver:  from OB to 172

It's ridiculously frustrating, though I'll certainly take 230 from the 3 wood any day as my long shot.  There's still that notion that if I could ever HIT my driver...

Probably just a glitch in your Driver Swing.  It would be a lot cheaper to get a lesson that to buy a whole new Driver to Shaft....

Well 178 OB might not be a good indication

I would go to the range and decide it there. If your having issues, its probably the swing. Driver's can really make someone feel like they have to swing hard. I would just try to think the driver as a 3-wood, maybe give it 20% less go at the ball.

Well, the 170-some was the only driver swing that left the ball somewhere I could actually guage from the GPS, heh.  For what it's worth, I have managed to figure out how to NOT hit the giant balloon push fade out of bounds with the thing and straighten it out -- But there's no distance.  For my game/level of development/so on and so forth -- The 3 wood is the better option.  Easier to control AND goes farther.  I need to just keep the driver in the garage 'til I can get it straightened out.

You need a new driver. Check out 3-Balls or golf4avenue (in canada) or something like that. You can usually get a mint condition used Callaway (currently in your sig line) or TM (most popular driver brand on the Tour) or whatever, and get it in your shaft specs, for < $50. Just do it!
