I have been reading that the overlap grip has been helping people fix their slices.  They are also saying that in the process of fixing the slices with long clubs that their short irons have started hooking or not getting pure contact.  My question is, how do you all feel about using multiple grips?  For example if you play your short irons or irons in general with an interlock and have no problems, why not stay.  If you change to an overlap on the longer clubs and it works why not use it?  Do you all think that by doing this you will eventually cause problems in your game or do you feel that it could be beneficial to change grips depending on the club in your hand?

When its breezy swing easy!!!!!

Years ago, played around with both grips. I eventually went to overlap for consistency of right-hand grip. For some reason, with interlock I would have a strong grip on one shot and a weak grip on the next. Not sure why.

Seem to get an automatic "neutral" grip with overlap. (And, Jack Nicklaus uses it! )

Unless I'm mistaken, I always thought Nicklaus used an interlocking grip.  At any rate, I use interlocking.

I don't think that using multiple grip types would pose any problem.  I use the varden grip for woods and long/mid irons, and then sometimes use a modified ten-finger grip for fringe and other more finesse shots as it feels more controlled.  My putting grip has been changing a bit as well, and it is different than the others mentioned (due to switching between one and two index fingers down the shaft).

I seem to benefit from having different grips depending on the situation.   But like everything in golf, this will change at some point...

I use an interlocking grip for the same reason Jack did, small hands.  I do use a stronger grip for the longer clubs off the tee.

I started with an overlap and felt much better with an interlock after I tried it. I should try the overlap again at the range one day just for kicks.

Tiger uses an interlock grip btw.

I stand corrected. Nicklaus and Tiger W. both use interlocking.

I've been using interlocking since I was a teenager-trying overlap makes it feel like I'm swinging lefthanded.  Also have small hands, so maybe that's why I prefer it.  With the interlock I have more power and a lot more control/feel of the clubhead.
