Hmm... So I looked at evolvr but I don't know... I'm sure it's good instruction but I don't know that I'd take full advantage of the 4 uploads a month.

Well, I will say this. Your piece is something you will be working on for a long time. Just like my backswing piece is something I will probably be fighting for the rest of my golf career. I have taken thousand upon thousand of bad swings before getting lessons from Erik. I have spent about 6 months on my new piece, and it is better, but not there yet. It still falls apart sometimes during the round. Like last night when I almost had an in course OB with a snap hook.

So, here is how Evolvr will probably go down for you. You will get your first lesson. Then I would use the next three to send in video of you doing the drills. Then the beginning of the next month I would send in a new swing video, then 3 more of doing what ever drills the instructor is telling you so you can make sure you are doing things right. Just keep at it till the piece is in a better position.

Honestly the only thing that changes fast are set up changes. Swing changes usually take a long time. Which most people don't get. They assume they can do the drill for a week and then the next video looks better and they proclaim it fix. Then it falls apart. Nope, not how it works.

Heck, Erik has been working on a transition piece in his swing for about 3 years now.

Yeah, I know that changes are going to be slow. I just can't get myself to pull the trigger on paying for lessons. However, I feel bad for leaning on Erik to give me help in my swing thread because he's so busy with other stuff.  The problem is I am really needing to get my swing into some sort of decent shape because, at this point, I've become so disillusioned with my golf it's hard to even get myself to go play.

You can make great strides on your golf game if you practice with a purpose, and do the practice correctly. I think Evolvr would be good because it would force you to practice because it is something you paid for. I am not trying to sell this to you, but I think you get kinda lost practicing on your own.

From your remarks in your swing thread, you get distracted on other things. You really should be working on one thing, and concentrating on one thing at a time. I think Erik put it best, work on that one piece till you can do it with out having to think about it.

I understand that, though I feel like I have been able to integrate the shortened backswing pretty well at this point. I know that he said that the main problem with my swing other than the overly long backswing was my flipping. I am pretty sure that flipping is going to be my biggest struggle to overcome.

Things do go slow. I tend to develop my Key 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 issues during a round still.

As far as Gem City goes, I would think they would open up, but who knows. I'm wondering about all the members who had equipment in storage and lockers. I would hope they are permitted access to get their stuff at least. As far as the ownership, he clearly lied when he publicly stated that he was "the owner" to get people to join. When they didn't come in hoards, I think he backed away and didn't sign the paperwork. Some savvy business friends of mine tend to think he could be in some hot water.

It's not as bad as you thing it is. It will come. Erik's preset drill really helps ingrain the right feeling at impact. It's listed under K2, but I think it really helps with K3 too.

Haha, I bit the bullet anyway and signed up for evolvr, uploading last nights videos now.

On topic, is anyone going to be available for a round of golf in the next few weeks. Not this week because I want to do some serious work on my swing but next week or the week after?

Well, I thought I was going to have plans tonight but those seem to have fallen through. If you are still going to hit the course today let me know. I'm thinking of taking off early from work just because I have the time available.

I put in my request to get off at 12, no guarantees I'll get approved but usually they are good about it.

    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
