Yesterday I shot 45/59.  I got a case of the shanks on the back 9 I just couldn't shake.

The most lop sided I had was a 50 on the front and a 41 on the back.

Yesterday, Shot 33 (2 under) on the front… par on 10, triple 11, triple 12…. Picked up, went home with a smile on my face just from the 2 under front 9. Pace of play was fine on the front but took over 1 hour for 10,11, 12. It probably had more to do with my focus but the long waits didn’t help. I’m content with knowing I had my best 9 ever. Feels good.

I had a 53-38 one time in a junior tournament...the most frustrating one though was 34-42. It may be only 8 strokes, but to start the round 2 under and finish at 76 was very frustrating

During sectionals last week I went 39-47(the 39 was on the back because we started on #10). I think that might be the most lopsided I've ever had. Stinks that it came during the most important 18 holes I've played in and we missed making it to districts by two strokes.

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Home Course:

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

It was either 37 or 38 and 60, so 22 or 23 stroke difference.  Of all those strokes, the heat stroke was the most important.  Pulled a few Kevin Na's on the back...

OK, now I feel better. Sort of. Before your post, I had the worst lopsided 9s of anyone to respond so far.

In July I went 38-58. It was the saddest, most disappointing round I've ever played. Does it help me save face though that it was 101 degrees that day? Probably not. I started duck hooking on 10 and I couldn't figure out how to stop it. Thankfully, I now know what went wrong thanks to a lesson afterwards, but, man that day hurt the ego. And if I didn't three putt from 5 feet on the third hole, I could've been +1 heading to the back 9.

I also went 47-38 this year too, but that one felt good going +3 on the back.

I should mention that both these scores happened on the same course. Not happy with that. Clearly I'm capable of doing it. I just haven't done it yet.

The good news is that I seem to break 40 on one of the two nines fairly regularly. I just need to keep the momentum going, or I need to stop getting off to these really slow starts.

I did it again today! This time at my home course. 49 (+12) back nine, then 37 (+3) front 9. Both times I threw the scorecard away on the first 9 holes, and then started scoring better..... so frustrating.

48 (+13) on the front (had two triples and quadruple) and 35 (-1) on the back (included an eagle and a birdie).

    • Would You Rather #67: Would you rather play a golf course in which every hole is a par-3. You never get to tee off with anything longer than your 6 iron? or  Would you rather play a golf course in which every hole is a long par-5 where it is outside your range to ever reach the green in two?
    • Pretty good video on how the trail elbow never really gets in front of the body until post impact.  The only nip pick is that they say the trail elbow doesn’t get in front of the trail hip. I am glad they put in their own reference for their definition, that shaded box. If you define the position of the points based on a XYZ reference. I think it was the 2nd example where the trail elbow went ahead of the trail hip when considering actual coordinates, got close to the target. It still doesn’t get in front of the body. The box they defined. Anyways, good evidence to show the hands have to get down and not out. The elbow gets more attached to the right side than trying to pull it around the body.
