Rocket ball?  ......IMO, it sounds like Taylor Made's version of a low-spin distance rock.  Probably not a ball I will ever consider buying......Am I wrong?

You are wrong... Theyre a line of clubs, not balls. I thought the same thing at first, but TM already makes distance rocks.

I wouldn't call them "revolutionary", TM was neither the first to use a white crown or an adjustable hosel.

I have to say though, the independent loft setting with the separate sole plate is quite nifty. Why the hell can't we just have one 10* model, and have 5 settings from 8-12*? For every driver on the market? Screw the face angle, adjustable loft that has a decent range would enable one head to replace several, helping to fit people better and allow some room for change.

It would be a lot cheaper than machining four different heads. You could have shaft choices (god forbid) due to the cheaper cost, and draw bias and the like could be fixed by weighting when they compensate for the shaft.

I bought the Superfast 2.0 only because I liked hitting a buddies Superfast and figured I'd might as well get the new one.  Even with the white being out as long as it has, people still make remarks and it gets irritating and almost gets my brain out of golf.  What, because I have a white driver, I'm all the sudden supposed to hit it a mile and straight?  Don't stand behind me if you aren't in my group and act like it's about to be a long drive contest.  I want to tell them to jump off a cliff and come up with original comments.

That being said, I'll probably sell this and just get something new and call it a day and relax.

I might be one of those guys, and I apologize, but if a player doesn't want people to take note of his driving prowess (or lack thereof), he maybe shouldn't get a white one.

I can't believe that Taylormade is about to resell the same burner irons all over again in another different color scheme. The RBZ lineup and new R11 look cheap and ridiculous.

Nah dude I'm pretty sure it's still a joke... :P

In all seriousness, I can see the fairways and hybrids being pretty good, but the driver and irons are totally unnecessary. They don't use the same technology, and are about the exact same thing as the burner line. And in my opinion, the fairways and hybrids are the last clubs in my bag I want to spend 200$+ per club on. Also, if I didn't mention this before, the name is stupid. I don't care how far Dustin Johnson can hit the 3 wood, it has no bearing on me.

I think it's a smart idea by TM to try and go after the FW market, there aren't really any outstanding ones out there compared to the driver where the R11 dominates. The problem though is that there's no point having a club that goes as far as the driver and a driver, and it sounds like this might be just that, especially for slower swingers. They better make a 4 wood.

So, if I were on my way to a big-box outlet store to buy these I could announce, "Can't wait to go down to  Dick's and get my hands on some RocketBallz"

Yup, nuthin' funny there.

    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
    • I think part of it is there hasn't been enough conclusive studies specific to golf regarding block studies. Maybe the full swing, you can't study it because it is too complicated and to some degree it will fall into variable or random.
