Pulled in the driveway this afternoon and there was a long box leaning on my front door. Wasn't really expecting anything until Friday.

Felt like Christmas had come again. Looks like a long lunch is in order for tomorrow. I'll dial in the RBZ and put it through the paces compared to my Ping G20. Should I send the guys in my weekend group a teaser picture message or just show up Saturday morning gaming the new driver?

Awesome; nice purchase! I say let let the driver do the talking.

Be sure to post pictures once you've painted it

I actually like the look of the club. A tunable TM driver for $300 is appealing. Enjoy the rocket!

I like the look of the white head as well, at least I do in my living room. I'll be heading to the range at lunch today to give it a try. I did see another thread that folks are saying they tried it and it felt dead, I hope that's not the case. If I can gain a few yards without loosing accuracy over my G20 it will be a keeper.

Let us know who it feels. I'm intrigued by the extra distance, wary of the supposed "dead" feel and put off by the white colour. If it is as long as they say I might be willing to buy one and paint it. Nothing wrong with white drivers - I just haven't got used to the idea yet...

Yeah let us know how it compares to the G20. Which one is longer and by how much? Is the G20 more forgiving (i.e. longer on off-center hits)?

So do you gave a ping g20 for sale?

Made it to the range yesterday at lunch and hit a small bucket, carried both dirvers. Hit a few to get warmed up with the G20. Hitting into about a 10mph headwind I aimed at one of the greens that the posted distance is 220. I'm not a long hitter by any means, 93-95 club head speed with the G20 and measuring average driving distance with the Golflogix app, my average is about 240. The first few with the G20 were landing on the green and a couple landing just on the back. Switched to the RBZ and the first few I got about the same results. So, I made an adjustment to the club and hit several balls, did this several times and finally found a setting that ball flight looked good and had the ball clearing the green by about 10 yds. Switched back to the G20 and hit a few more to make sure it was not just from being loosened up more and could not get one over the green.

With my swing speed, shaft flex I can go stiff or regular (both of these driver are 10.5* loft). The SK fiber shaft is a stiff but a soft stiff, the stock RBZ shaft is a regular flex. I found that with regular flex shafts I tend to hit the ball higher so making the adjustment to lower the loft made perfect sense.

After returning to work I received a text from one the the guys in my weekend foursome and he was getting a game together for today about noon and just happened to be off work, so I'll be taking the RBZ to the course today. I'll update this evening how it plays. For me, I don't lend much credit to the way a club performs on the range, it's all about how it does on the course. BTW, I did not think the club felt "dead". It did not have the feel like the ball was springing off the club face, just a good solid hit, which I guess some people might think was a dead feel.

Probably not, I like to keep 2 drivers and had a VR Pro as my backup and sold it.

Glad to see you could hit the RBZ further than the G20. It looks like the shafts are quite a bit different. You have the stiff TFC 169D in the G20 and a regular Matrix Ozik XCON 5 in the RBZ. Is that right? How'd the RBZ perform on the course?

Actually have a SK Fiber Helium shaft (stiff) in the G20. When I was fitted for the shaft they checked the stock Ping shaft and the stiff actually measured closer to x-stiff.

I was at the release party last night at the local Golf Galaxy.  They had a contest going to bring in your driver and test it against the RBZ driver.  You get 5 swings and you take your best distance on both and for how many yards further the RBZ was compared to your driver you get one RBZ ball.  I didnt take part in this because I wasn't aware until I got there what the promotion really was and I was just intent on buying and R11S driver and RBZ 3W.  Needless to say everyone walking out left with a nice size bag of balls.  This thing seems a legit.

Well, this thing must have a learning curve. Man I had a hard time keeping it in the fairway. My normal ball flight is a slight draw and all I had today was a push or a push fade. Not knowing for sure what the adjustments were doing to the face angle I assumed that lowering the loft opens the face, at least that's what happened on the Nike VR Pro. Fighting it on the front nine I set it back to the standard setting and managed to hit a couple of descent shots on the back. Once I got home I played around with the settings to get the club face at address looking about the same as my G20 and I'll try it again in the morning. One thing I did notice is how light this club is, it's really light.

Roll Tide!  High handicap here and found the same push on the range today after getting my RBZ,  On click left helped, I'm setting it tonight 2 clicks left from standard for my round tomorrow, i will Post after round results.

RollTide.....I wish TM had a chart that explained what each setting actually was. I have sent them a email to see if such a thing exist.

With a club length of 46" it's gonna be very easy to push/fade the ball.

Much better results today, at least hit the ball straight. Still cannot draw the ball, but no fade either. Also, still getting used to how light the RBZ is and getting the ball position right to hit it on the sweet spot. By the end of today's round I had it about figured out. Hopefully tomorrow the transition period will be over and I'll be able to tell just how long (if any) this driver is.

I would disagree with him saying that lowering the arm might be the simplest and easiest move in golf 😄. I am having SOO much trouble making that move instead of my hands immediately moving toward the ball from the top. It's like my mind has 0 patience at the top and tells me to GO GO GO.

    • I generally like par-3 courses and find it a darn shame that the last of them closed in my area during the pandemic. Part of it may have to do with the fact that I never have been very good with the longer clubs, so the short holes are a bit more my speed.  Being able to get in 18 holes in two hours was pretty convenient and, ironically, the lack of crowds made them peaceful places to be. Naturally, that's the same reason they no longer exist around here.  The second option sounds like a whole lot of no fun.
