I'll be interested to see how Alan Conroy's stay at TST goes. I'm on the fence, he's either hilarious or a douche, time will tell.

I agree, finders keepers. I have acquired at least 10 clubs this way, mainly wedges and the odd putter. I always go home to my wife and tell her that I found a great new club today. If you lose it and I find it, my gain your loss. Fairs fair.

It's not just clubs, people just leave their BMWs parked in front of the club for hours at a time. Dumb bastards never catch on, I just hitch up a tow truck and take what's clearly mine. And there's this guy who goes to the golf course and spends his time stealing lost clubs while I keep his wife company. Fair's fair, right?
Well, I'm proud to be British. We also have less fairies over here.
Well, at least we're not from the same country which is a relief. By the way, your country has been a lot more liberal about gay rights in the last 50 years than the US, so you're just an idiot. If you think there's fewer gay people in the UK than you're either referring to the fact that the US has a larger overall population by several times, or you've got your head up your ass. I suspect the latter. Luckily I won't let you spoil my good opinion of the UK, as I have several old friends there including a happily married gay couple with an adopted child. I hope you picture that and it bothers you.

Nah, I think he's referring to Mr. Conroy.  He's definitely not p57, and in fact after reading a few of his threads he's made me almost long for the days of patrick.  At least his nonsense was actually on the subject of golf.

This Alan Conroy fella sure reminds me of him. Starts stupid threads, riles everyone up, antagonistic etc etc. Could a mod look into this for me, maybe ease my mind? :)

I've had a few drinks, so forgive me for being paranoid but...you mean Alan Conroy's threads right? Cuz' I'm pretty sure that all of my threads rock.

I'm both but fun and banter is my main target.

Hey Grandpa,

you were never a great PI.

Well, maybe you have a sick sense of humor. I can live with that, but this forum is really meant to be kept civil and inoffensive, especially in the golf related forums. That sort of talk might fly on 4Chan, but we don't shit where we eat here. We discuss a gentleman's game like gentlemen, so kindly take your Nazi propaganda, homophobia, and ignorance, whether real or tongue in cheek, elsewhere with lower standards for taste.

Which is why, with no personal hard feelings, I've reported your post. Enjoy your ban.

Thank you but I will return. I believe P57 should be reinstated as he never stooped to my levels. He actually stuck to your specifications.

Nobody was behind me - I had the place to myself. Well, I found a putter in the woods, and a left-handed Ping B-60 at that! (I'm left-handed)

Did I turn that club in? No. Why? Because obviously someone chucked it into the woods in frustration & didn't bother to go looking for it.

That's not even a 'lost' club. That's a rejected club. Mine.

I played last year with a guy who had an external putter well. It wasn't very deep though, and the putter snapped into place at the top of the bag. He walked through the trees on the 7th hole and when he got to the green . . . no putter. It had snagged on a branch and fallen "out" of his bag. We went back and found it, but if he'd been on #18 and chipped in he wouldn't have know it was gone.  Probably not what happened to have that PING end up in the woods, but some punk might have thrown a found putter into the woods, either to he a jerk or to pick it up later. It was probably discarded, but not necessarily and certainly not obviously so. Just my 2 cents though.

Seriously?!  We're talking about on the course here.  We're not talking about you're walking down the street, someone somehow dropped a brand new Vokey on the sidewalk, and you pick it up and feel fortunate to find a nice new wedge.  You'd feel like the group behind you did the right thing if you forgot your wedge on the last green, realized it the next hole, went back, it wasn't there, asked the only group who'd played that hole since you if they picked it up, they said, "No", and it turned out that they just found it and hid it, figuring "finders keepers" on the nice wedge?

If that's true then you're the problem.

I replied before reading past TitleistWI's post.  I'm surprised and saddened by how many guys here feel totally fine stealing a misplaced club.  The probably chucked putter in the woods is sort of a gray area, but it's still the gentlemanly thing to do to turn it in.  Even if the guy who chucked should work on his temper, he'll still probably regret chucking the expensive putter later and the fact that he has a temper doesn't give you the right to cheat him out of a couple hundred dollars.

In fact, a couple years ago when my lowest lofted club was my 54˚, I'd decided that I wanted to invest in a lob wedge, but hadn't decided on one.  I found a nice, new looking 58˚ at one of my regular courses and carried it with me the last few holes.  No one came back looking for it and I turned it in and it was claimed the next day.

I've had people drive my forgotten wedge up to me a number of times, and never had one stolen.  Nice that the a-holes are a minority at least...

Did my post get deleted because I quoted the "douche's" post? That makes sense, as it was pretty repugnant, but allow me to reiterate, the guy is a douche.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
