I think it is hilarious that this was such an event that it was a live remote for the evening news.  Two middleaged strippers show their tits and we go live to the scene.  WOW slow news day!!!!  In Colorado the cops would not have even come let alone the evening news.

I simply cannot understand why anyone would watch this rendition of Big Break!

Now just to clarify. I'm 19yo and appreciate a sexy girl as much as the next guy but at some point, how sexy (read sl*ty) they are can't cover the fact that this show had some major flaws.

#1 They suck at golf. I didn't watch much, but what I saw was laughable as far a skill was concerned. Essentially wedge play.

#2 sit sit Sit SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT... (nuff said)

#3 They werent THAT attractive. Seriously, just because a girl is young and is wearing booty shorts and a tight tank-top, doesn't make her hot. Most of them were rather plump as well.

#4 Confusing. I don't even know where to start here. I'm sure if I had watched ALL the episodes and paid close attention, I might have been able to discern what the helk was going on, but I didn't and I don't, so "what just happened?"

#5 BORING More than 5 minutes of this show and I began bleeding from my eyes.

I will address this list:

  1. You are exactly right
  2. This has been an annoyance of every BB
  3. I felt this way when I was young(er). As you get older youth is not an option and you are happy just getting one sexy option and rarely get the whole package unless love is blinding you or you just get one that ages well...Guys are no different, we go to hell in a hand basket as well.
  4. Watch all the shows
  5. ^Do not ask if you didn't want watch anyway.

Why we watched? Because the show is usually somewhat interesting, we love golf and that was all that was on the golf channel, girls in golf skirts (that's just me), and we kind of like seeing someone else choke. Just not choke so much.

"My ball is on top of a rock in the hazard, do I get some sort of relief?"

I watched because it made me feel better about my golf game knowing that these girls were professionals and still screwed up the same way I do on the course.

I too will address your 5.

1.  The top 4 or 5 players had game, but otherwise, yea they don't meet expectations.  I guess they caste some eye-candy and some players, and some in between.

2.  At lease 2 of the top players were Spanish speakers, so we got to hear PARA, PARA, PARA, PARA to change things up a bit.  In all seriousness, this yelling of SIT along with having caddies line up every shot is the worst thing about women's golf.  I have not noticed the men constantly yelling this stuff.

3.  They were nicer to look at than a bunch of guys.  I would prefer they skew casting more to golf skill though.

4.  Not confusing if you've watched a lot of Big Break.

5.  I like it.  It is something different.  As a certified golf addict, I will take my drug in any form, and new different forms are good.

I watched the Big Break Reunion show (I know, I know, there was nothing else on) and was pretty surprised how bitter Meghan and Shannon were about how things went.

Meghan was asked if she was upset that her Big Break ended so quickly and if she had any regrets.  She responded that she wasn't angry about her decision but was angry and upset that some of the other girls that lasted longer than her on the show were not playing in tournaments or doing anything to further their career in golf.  She basically accused them of just being on the show for their 15 minutes of fame, Kelly and Aubrey seemed to be the ones that took the most exception to it, so they might have been the ones she was talking about.

Shannon called out Zakiya for buying her way out of the elimination challenge after she was the team captain.  She said Zakiya bought her way out of the challenge because she knew she couldn't hit the shots and beat the other three.

Both comments were uncalled for, and maybe precoached by the show's producers as a last ditch move to get a moment of drama on this lame production.

If Meghan could get some kind of game to go with her jiggles, she would be a welcome addition to the LPGA.

The week after the final episode.  I had my DVR scheduled to record new episodes of the Big Break and it got recorded.  I just got around to watching it last night.  It was the first time I'd seen them do one, all the ladies were dressed up and on stage in front of a live audience.  Marcella was presented with her prizes and Selanee was awared fan favorite and won her Q School entrance fees.

Interesting... Maybe I was traveling or something and just didn't see any of the ads?   But it didn't seem like they did a good job to advertise for it.

I would rather watch any sort of Big Break rather than Big Brother or Survivor....

With the Big Break Greenbrier just wrapping up... It got me thinking about the sponsors exemption the show gives the winner.  And I really enjoyed watching Marcela Leon, the winner of Big Break Atlantis.  And was wondering how she preformed in the Kingsmill Championship, where she earned an exemption.

+7, 79/70.... Cut.

Ouch.

That's too bad.

A couple of questions for all of you long time watchers of the series:

How have past winners done in their exempt tournaments?  and, are there any Carrie Underwood or Jennifer Hudson-esque type success stories out there?  Any current PGA or LPGA members that came from Big Break?

Oh!  I have definitely heard of him, but had no idea he came from Big Break.  I'd say that would qualify as a success story.

Has any Big Breaker made the cut at the event after getting the exemption? There is a reason why these guys are on Big Break instead of the the tour. It isn't opportunity. It is lack of game. That being said this season had to be one of the highest in overall talent.  The last couple guys shows have had a lot of personalities but only a couple with games that looked almost tour worthy.

Googled and found this: http://golf.about.com/od/thebigbreak/a/bigbreakresults.htm

There have been a total 16 Big Break winners who were given exemptions into a total of 28 events.  (Some PGA, Nationwide, LGPA, and LET)

5 times out of 25 the contestant made the cut.  3 of the tournaments were no-cut tournaments.

The best finish was Tommy Gainey, who came in 8th place in his Nationwide event in 2007.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
