more like three.... "set", "than" and "they're"... Wtf Keegan....

Set/sets can go either way. Some people/countries/regions treat a group of people as a single entity, which is what Keegan is going.

I dropped my wallet when walking a muni on the west side of Chicago years ago...  I traced my steps over and over and couldn't find it once I realized it was missing from my back pocket.  Later that summer (about a month later) in the mail out of nowhere, my wallet shows up with a small hand written note from a Mother.  It simply stated that her son had found it laying in the grass on the course, and they wanted to return it to me.  The funny thing was, everything was still in it... Even the small amount of cash I had in it.  Unfortunately, I had already canceled all my credit cards, and replaced my ID, and the wallet.  So I didn't have much use for it other than the ~ 20 bucks cash that was still in it. Another lost and found story... But this one wasn't on the golf course... It dates back to when I was in college attending the University of Cincinnati back in the late 90's.  It was my senior year, and I lived off campus in an apartment on the west side.  It was a shady area, but had a good view of the city.  Anyway, one morning I had a pair of workout pants on that had some loose pockets.  It was early AM, and I was going to campus to get some work done, and my wallet must have fallen out of my pocket when I was getting in/out of the car?  It wasn't until later that day, that I realized that my wallet was missing. PO'd... I had to go and cancel all my bank cards, and replace everything - wallet, student ID, etc.  A few days later, and while at work, I told one of my supervisors about what happened.  And he said, why didn't you call downtown and ask the county if it was turned into lost and found.  I was like, is this guy crazy?  Like someone is going to turn my wallet into lost and found.  But he peaked my interest... So I called downtown.  Sure enough, after checking the lady had it in their lost and found items.  Come to find out, someone turned it over to a police officer, and they in-turn turned it into the lost and found at the city.  I drive down, and the lady hands me my wallet.  Everything was intact, cash and all. Talk about Good Samaritans.

Small nitpick, but it is "piqued." ;-)

Even smaller gnatpick ... Pretty sure Keegan isn't "going" anything! ;) Now don't you go editing both posts to make me look silly again!! :)

This is a harsh thread, I always try my bestest when righting! It's unfare that you pick on people because your gooder than them at spellin! It's unpossible to get everyfing write all the time! So stop showing of! Just because you think your souperior than me! (Ps, I wrote rough as "ruff" recently, I was swiftly pulled on it! In my defence I had been drinking heavily and felt great shame in the morning!)

I just typed "put a kibosh on…" and then when I used the dictionary to make sure kibosh was the right word, it said "put THE kibosh on…".

I've always heard it as "a" and not "the" - what say the learned members of the Spelling and Grammar Errors Thread? :-) Are both correct? Just one?

Well, I'm not Canadian, and I'm from California, which is the only accent-neutral place on Earth, so I have no caveat .

Sounding like a baked out Keanu Reeves isn't considered an accent then?

I believe we speak "correctly" here.  What Veronica Corningstone refers to as "non-regional diction." ;)
