Hey, I was just curious, I don't know my exact swing speed, but the ball speed coming off my driver is between 135 and 138 mph. Can anyone tell me my swing speed?

I've found it to be more or less, your ball speed is 1.5x your swing speed. So, you're swinging at about 90 mph, plus change, maybe.

1.5 is the maximum "smash factor," yes. It's roughly the fastest the ball can travel (multiplied by swing speed) and is dependent on contact. Hit the ball low, high, or towards the toe and heel and the smash factor will drop to 1.4, 1.35, etc.

1.5, in other words, is for a hit on the sweet spot.

So that probably means I would want a regular shaft on my new driver correct?

i would definately start with a regular flex shaft, that way you know you dont have to swing too hard to try and live up to a stiff flex. I have a swing speed of 105 to 110 but I sure didn't start that way. I got into a regular flex shaft right away with a swing speed of about 95. I was border line between regular and stiff. I wanted regular to be safe and not be so intimidated. Great decision. I am just now looking for a driver/shaft combo with stiff flex as I am indeed growing out of my regular flex lately.
