Less thoracic extension late backswing left arm would be inside baseline at 5 (not on), Robert Rock type of alignments.

So, less stackandtiltish backswing and more pivot-driven downswing with a bigger secondary axis tilt, so to speak very very roughly?

Then I would avoid CP altogether. Even Mac won't get higher handicappers to go CP.

Gotcha. I'm starting to understand why, I appreciate your answers.

Does anyone have any late 80's footage of Mac?

The Carl Welty's from 1990 is the earliest on YouTube. However, there are 3 swing sequences from 1986 here:

Kind of. Depends on how you define S&T. With MORAD there isn't the feel or effort to gradually load more left on the backswing.

More of this

Than this, difference is when he kicks in the extension from 3-4 (he doesn't take out all the thoracic extension!) is that his head stays more centered than this swing here where it drifts more forward.

Then DTL differences, not this

Thanks, bud. These checked pants positions are just golden, not exaggerated left as S&T does and more natural to perform. Is there this footage available somewhere or just pics?

As far as S&T goes, now I can see that Plummer and Bennett somehow mixed patterns (CP elements in the backswing with CF elements in the downswing) probably having had an idea to make everything easier. I am not sure if this is the best way to do so.

Footage of CP vs CF?

They mixed and went too far IMO with some feels and exaggerations. Overdid foot flares, hands in, thoracic extension, flying wedge, rate the trail leg extends and most importantly weight forward on the backswing.

This footage is great; pay attention to the thighs' posterior (back) muscles at A4 and later on:

Mike or everyone, is someone here familiar with the notion "bunny hop"? I have read somewhere that this is how Mac calls the very start of the swing. That is a very interesting text with some great GIFs that describe the idea:

I remember I asked about it on the other forum and received no answer.

It is. It's certainly not unique to Mac… though the application that Zach is using is unique to Mac! ;-) ha ha ha ha ha. :-D

Yeah.

But… to what extent?

C'mon, @Yff Theos… far better ballstrikers than Mac O'Grady have different pieces in their swing. I don't really understand the fascination with ONE guy, particularly when his own model shifts and changes over time, and can't even really ever be nailed down.

It appears that the discussion about Mac O'grady is not very welcomed also here despite I am not polluting other threads with Mac and TGM here. It is a pity, but OK, I can live with that. I prefer not to have a dejavu and to be expelled from this forum as well.
