so i was reading a couple threads on pople commenting on not wearing a hat or shirt that matches your clubs. and i was wondering does it matter that much to everyone about brand matching i mean i have adams irons, ping driver, calloway bag(it was the lightest and i like to walk), foot joy shoes and an assortment of clothes i mean do people really judge on not brand matching or is it just some, i mean i play with and wear what i found felt good not caring if it matched hahaha.

The only reason to brand match is if that particular brand is signing your checks...

Outside of that, it's just something that people choose to do.  I have a buddy at the gym that refuse to wear a nike shirt with adidas shorts etc.  He doesn't prefer one over the other, he's just quirky like that.

But most of the people I know hit or wear whatever works for them.  Heck look at the signatures on this forum... a good number of people aren't loyal to one company in their bag... much less what brand thier belt is.

Oh no, you are over the 3 logo limit.

If you look in a lot of good player's bags, they don't match up. For many touring pros, the headcovers may all be the same, but that doesn't mean that there is not an Adams hybrid stuck in that Cally cover (substitute brands for this example).

You can mix and match brands however you want.  Its your bag and unless a certain company is paying you to use their stuff, who cares what you use?

Apparently, according to your posts in the hat thread, you do.

I don't pay attention to the brand as much as the colors and it has nothing to do with my gear. Most of my clothing is course/club logo stuff on brands like Antigua, Cutter and Buck, Sunice so not real flashy. My experience is the clothes in the pro shop are more affordable than the big box golf stores.

I don't pay attention to brands for clothing.  If I see a shirt I like, I buy it.  Whether it's ADIDAS, Nike,  or whatever....it doesn't matter.  The same goes for outerwear. IE ..wind/rain clothing.  I own several and brand is an afterthought.  If it's a design I like, that is all that matters.  I have a ton of pullovers both short and long sleeved for those chilly days.

Caps...that's another story.  I tend to avoid golf brands.  Most of my baseball caps have college team logos. (ohio state, of course!)  I do have 2 Nike Dri-Fit caps, but just because they are great to wear on those blistering hot days.

I have played with countless people. I have yet to know what brand putter any of them used. Not a single one. And unless I'm being snoopy and looking near their bag.. i wont know their wedges either.

Only reason I've bought Adams clubs is because I liked the logo..... hehehe Kidding! Kidding....

I do happen to like them, but there are various reasons why it worked out that way. Had 2 Adams woods with my previous set. Tried some irons eventually and wound up going with the Adams because I didn't want to pay for Pings, Taylormades, and others. Plus the set came with a bag.. After that, when someone bought a club for my birthday (my wife, for example), they would buy me Adams...

Maybe some folks who have played with me noticed that and when they found that I was just the average golfer maybe they thought less of me. Not my problem.
.

However, I could care less what brand the clothes are. Typically I'm wearing shorts with a polo that came from wherever. The at is always the same, though. Its my trusty Scottish cap... hehehe

I will wear Titleist hats because they feel most comortable to me and fit me well.  I've tried adidas(too shallow of a dome), Nike(golf hats are too narrow in the front), and Taylormade(too shallow, as well).
I wear Nike and Under Armour shirts because they are comfortable, to me.  I like the way their sizes fit my particular body and so they are what I buy most of.  Shorts..I don't really have a preference.
Shoes, I will wear what i think looks good thats also an acceptable price for me.
Clubs..I have TM driver and hybrid, Mizuno irons, Adams Watson 54, Callaway Jaws CC 60, and a cleveland putter.

My philosophy on golf "We're not doing rocket science, here."
