Trying to find some clubs that would be good for introducing my 5 year old to the game. Don't want to spend a fortune on clubs he will outgrow quickly. Just want to get him hitting here an there. I see US kids golf had a 9 iron with a training grip. I'm thinking that might be a good starter club and add a putter or wood/driver if he enjoys it. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Yes, Callaway Preowned Has a Deal on a 5-8 yr old set - jump on it as the quantity is limited - driver, fairway, hybrid, 9i, wedge, putter and bag - and a great price.

Which coast are you on? I bought some off of craigslist. I bought a nice set of Barbie clubs for 15 clams shipped! They were brand new!

Thought if you were on the east coast and close you could check out the set I have.

Hey thanks for the links. I'm going to check them out. Not sure I want to drop $200+ just yet. I'd like to get him swinging a club first. Even if I have to upgrade soon. There is room for hand me downs or a second set of clubs when one of his friends want to play.

I picked up a set of Intech? I think, that was the brand. 5-8 year old clubs, wood, 3 irons and a putter with a bag for 30 bux on cl.

My boy wants new equipment ... When I replaced his 9i, which he lost, he said "but it's not new."

I said, "Neither are your other clubs."

I bought a US Kids golf 9 iron with the training grip. Ill probably pick him up a putter as well. Those two should keep him busy for a while.

Initech clubs are a little heavy for a 5 year old but they seemed solid. Like I said I got them second hand and they were pretty nicked up.

    • Day 238: played 18. Back 9 was pretty good after a rough front 9. Then worked a bit after the round at the range, just firming up some feels.
    • Day 6 (15 Mar 25) - Played in local course’s 2man captain’s choice St Patrick’s Day tournament.  Great day of working closely with my teammate on course management process.
    • Certainly BUY used so many near new Drivers in Good condition that will suit ...which IMHO the shaft is the most important part if you want to buy new get a shaft new that suits you then find the head you like the feel off
    • I found being part of a Great Golf Club renewed my love for the game and comps ..previously at my other club I was just a player with novice player mates or solo .and that was hard to progress and drive the passion when my job was very restrictive to playing in good weather and friends couldn't play as much...  that become a grind at times and gave up the game for couple years..but now work for myself and have clear goals and new GC with serious players ongoing comps and great course I can pretty much always get on .. some great Golfing friends I made playing in the weekly comps ..I'm loving it..  Still get down on my game and can walk off gutted ..but thats the game we wouldn't love the good round if we never had bad rounds So for me maybe dropping the pressure of the HC grind and more so enjoy playing comps with others serious on the game ...understand the game is hard ,enjoy the good times and your game will develop ...
