Any suggestions for Saturday golf that is quality in the area since Tukwet is full.

You're near Anaheim, right?  Mile Square in Fountain Valley (where we played our first "tournament") has a couple of nice and reasonable courses.  There are a zillion more, but I don't know the north OC courses as well, so I'll let Beachcomber and Pakoh take this one ...

I can be in the general area- the OC or nearby At same time if golfing in Southern California' is like golfing in Dallas, you've got to golf early on the weekends

Well, now that it's daylight savings time I think you're OK late too ... but, yeah, mid mornings at popular courses are risky.

Two more ... Black Gold in Yorba Linda and Coyote Hills in Fullerton both have some pretty good deals on golfnow.com.  Unfortunately, I've never played either so I can't really give much advice one way or the other.  They both look nice, and I've heard that Black Gold is tough, but other than that ... I got nothing. ;)

Oak Valley, which is across the freeway from Tuckwet, is a nice one. If you come out to the Palm Springs area, there are some really nice ones as well but a little on the pricey side.

Oh, one that I really liked but have only played once is Goose Creek in Corona ... http://www.goosecreekgc.com/  I've also heard Eagle Glen in the same area is pretty nice, and I believe that neither of them is too terribly pricey.  http://www.eagleglengc.com/

What type of course are you looking to play?

Mid range or high end cost, there are a lot of great courses, Coyote Hills is really nice $90 with cart, we only used to play this once a year Christmas Morning outting with a few friends.

Anaheim Hills lots of fun.

Green River, not played it in years, Diamond Bar the same.

West Ridge in La Habra, some like it others do not about $86 with cart Saturdays, keep up but some find it a tough course.

Fullerton a real muni course not always keep up, but a lot of regulars there every day.

La Mirada, our home course, fun and they keep it up we always have fun playing there but you have to play early gets a bit crowed on Saturdays and they like to send out 5 somes so it can back up. We walk on the back 9 to fill in some times and that moves really well. No tee time for that but you have to check in by 6:30 am or you will not get on. They stop the back 9 once the front catchs up.

Played Dos Lagos in Corona yesterday front 9 kicked my ass, back 9 was really fun a bit hot so I suggest if you play you tee early.

I forgot all about Industry Hill, they use to hold a lot of tournaments there, I would assume they have been keeping it up.

I think it will come down to how much you want to spend $$ and if you can get a tee time, it is starting to get crowed now.

      I dont know if I really have a favorite, but there are two that have stuck in my mind for a very long time. #15 at Erie Golf course during the Finals of the EDGA Matchplay. Was up early and then lost a few holes in row so the match was close again. My opponent had a short putt for birdie. I hit past hole high, but 35 feet right. I drained the putt and looked over at my opponent who was in disbelief.   #8 at Whispering Woods during another year of the EDGA Matchplay. Was playing a very cocky opponent who made sure to mention on the first tee how many times he won the club championship at this course. I hammered this 30 footer that clanked off of the pin and dropped. My opponent was disgusted and that made me weirdly happy. I went on to win 5&3 or something like that, so that entire day has stayed in my memory.

      Day 20: Did 30 minutes after getting home from work, before kid's baseball practice. This session was piecing out the new hip move in transition, doing 2-3 rehearsals from the top, and then hitting a ball from between P5/P6. Did another 45 minutes after baseball practice and dinner. Did 30 more minutes of what I did earlier, and then about 15 minutes of full swings trying to incorporate athletically.
