I dont know about anyone else but i can be striping the ball on the range before my round,and feeling in sync.the minute i get on the course i feel like i feel like im swinging with alligator arms.I seem to play my best when i dont warm up before a round,but i always feel i should warm up before i tee off.Anyone else have this problem and if so what do you do about it!

I warm up with chips, pitches and putts on the practice green. I might hit 3-4 balls from a buddies basket but I find the chips and putts before the round pay higher dividends. Plus I chip and pitch a la Utley so it's very similar to my full swing.

just curious,have you ever just hit balls on the range and how did you feel/play after.just wandering if you noticed a difference in your play and if thats why you chip,pitch,putt vs hitting balls! thanks.

Mostly I started doing it that way because those shots require more finesse and feel than a full swing so I figured my score would benefit more from warming up that way. Also nice to get a feel for the greens before it counts. Now I realize that it also prevents me from getting fatigued and blowing my proverbial load before teeing off. Hitting a bucket of 60 balls right before teeing off can be pretty fatiguing. That may be your issue. YMMV.

I feel that way if I drive too many balls on the range before I play. I limit the number of balls I drive to four or five. I mostly hit short irons and chips before hand.

I usually play better with either no warm up  or an extended warm up of around 70 to 100 balls, with about 20 to 30 being used for the driver. .   If I just hit a say 10-20 with maybe 5 for driver  it never seems to work out.  Best warm up in my opinion is chipping putting and some short pitches seems like I have a better feel for the green that way.
