I'm quite good at skeet shooting. Granted, I've never tried it with a rifle… :D

Ha ha!  I am pretty bad at it.  We actually had a guy at work here that wanted to build a rifle because he said he wanted to go skeet shooting with it.   Ah, we had to explain to him why that might not be the best idea.  Apparently he thought lobbing a projectile into the air at 3150 feet per second was a "good" idea.   Gun safety training should be a requirement.

I have got to see this movie sometime.  I have seen so many of the clips but not watched it entirely.

Well, then you've probably seen the movie.

Back to topic. My fault. :D

: ). Back on topic. I am going to play Pebble Saturday, well sort of. Playing it at the indoor golf center. I will probaby record some swings to see how much rust I need to shake off. I have not hit a ball since the Irish in early November so it will be nice.

If it lets you, warm up on the simulator a little to get a feel for how it handles things. For example, ours gets the ball flight laws right, but the ball doesn't curve as much as it would in real life, so start lines become VERY important.

Will do. If I remember right from last year it got it right with the curve according to the path/face relationship. It seemed to be ok for the amount of curve and proper distance as well but not great.

Just out of curiosity at your level of playing is there much difference between playing a simulator and the real thing?

I assume the simulators more realistic than playing WII or XBOX.

As a mediocre ball striker, I think the simulator is fairly accurate other than that you have more forgiveness on fat shots.  :D   I would say it is within a few yards on the irons anyway for distance when you connect properly.  The curve is fairly questionable though as Erik mentioned. They are pretty expensive simulators.  I am not sure of the exactness of the measurements but it tells you the degrees open/closed of the club path and face after each shot.   I tried the Wii last year at a friend's house and even though you make swings with the controller I felt it was not very good.

Some shots on the sim at pebble.  This is not really for analysis, it's just for fun.  Although I can see there is some work to do.  Aware that my reputation precedes me, but I did not spell my name incorrectly on the simulator.  The simulator is much less accurate than I thought but that is OK.  Had a little 30 yard pitch that apparently had so much backspin on it that I spun it back off the green.  Irons were longer than they should be.  Driver was shorter than my Driveway as well which was silly.  Still a lot of fun though.  My playing partner dropped a nice 15' putt at the end to edge me by a stroke as well.   But I did play it 600 yards longer than him…:P

The draw is really a very nice looking bal flight.. So, you think there was just a little bit more spin on the sim, or was the ball flight for you closer.. Not the distance you explained, but the right to left?

I actually think it is fairly close on the irons but just a bit too much spin.  The last iron shot that I had too much draw you can tell I shut down the face because it started almost at the flag, Just to the right.  I wanted to start it at the right edge of the green.  I thought it was very accurate for start lines though.  The driver though, I do not hit it that straight.  That was not overly accurate for sure, at least I don't think it was.

Edit: Also just for fun I was paying tribute to another Wisconsin member here who "loves" soccer with the kit I was wearing.  ;)

That looks like fun. I might have to get over there and play a signature course. If you want to go to a range and hit outside check out national golf center. It might be a little bit of a drive but its a heated outdoor range and its reasonably priced. The swing looks good bud maybe when I grow up I can look that smooth. ;-)

I am sure the sim place is struggling to make it so it is worth supporting as well. I will also have to head over to the outdoor range this winter.
