There is an Australian company discreetly surveying the marketing of the black golf ball. I have not played with one, but have a yellow one. Colour has not bothered me, i think,, it has been my swing never consistent. It will be interesting, if it actually appears on the market. Does anyone know if Nike actuallymarketed black golf balls?, seen them in pictures.

Unless you are playing in the snow it would very hard to pick up sight wise, i have played with a dark red ball and it was nearly invisible, like red flags, very hard to pick up in the distance.

There's a reason that golf balls are bright colors.  Imagine trying to find that sucker in the tall grass, shade, dirt, etc....

Thank you no.

I have enough trouble finding a white golf ball every now and then.....black/gray/green would not work for me either

Why would anyone play a black golf ball?  Might as well play a green one if you are going to go with a dark color!  If they ever do go on sale somewhere I doubt they will sell many of them.

The Boo Weekley inspired camo balls were a big hit (not). Even on a good shot they were one hit wonders. You have to love the "Truck Nuts" packaging.

I'm still wondering about the thread title where it says "USPG Approved".     USPG?    Why would a 300 year old Anglican missionary organization (the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel) be approving golf balls???     Is it because you wouldn't have a prayer finding one of these in the rough?

Dude, I cannot even find my yellow golf balls.  How the heck am I going to find black ones?  imo, that's a terrible idea.

Clearly your problem is you're playing yellow balls while there are a lot of yellow leaves on the ground.  And in that instance a black ball would stand out!!!

    • Several years ago I got paired with a twosome of golfers, one of which had a maybe 5-year-old son with him. The kid had a putter and a 7i with him, and on some holes he would drop a ball near the green, chip on, and putt. If the kid started to get distracted, the dad would ask, "Do you need to rest?" The kid would nod yes, and then take his dad's seat riding in the cart for a couple of holes. It was a slow day, and the kid was polite and friendly. We got through 18 just fine. (If it had been a crowded course day, I'm sure it would have been less pleasant.)
    • Caution for the seniors on weight training: Listen to your body. (I'm 75) I got a recent session with an orthopedist after a training-related injury. I put too much weight on a new resistance machine at the gym and ended up with bursitis in my left hip. Of course, it's the hip I dislocated back in 2023. I have my first physical therapy session tomorrow. I remarked that some days I can do 45 lbs. chest press - two sets - without much effort. But other days it drops down to 30 (😩) with just one set. (Complicating factor: I had digestive problems in this fall and lost about 20 lbs., with slip in muscle tone.) Orthopedist said that I want to feel some resistence, but that I should go with lots of reps with manageable weights rather than trying to set some sort of lift-pound record. I'm sure I'll get some refinements on lifting during tomorrow's PT.
