Topping a god damn, no good, piece of crap hybrid. I hate the sound it makes, kind of a "doink" sound. LOL.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Yeah, but you get more out of a topped hybrid than a topped long iron.

holycrap I thought I was the only one who consistently topped hybrids - WTF is the deal with that ?!?!?      I've owned probalby a half dozen hybrids & just can NOT get confidence with them.    Much prefer long irons - I have swarn hybrids off for good mostly due to topping them (don't have that problem as consistently with other clubs) !!

I don't do it anymore but for the longest time it was almost a given. I think it's because my brain could not commit, am I sweeping or am I striking down, so I'd kinda try to do both at the same time as I looked up to admire my soaring ball flight. DOINK. Now I hit down on those ******* like they're wedges and it's all good.

gotta say it's a toss-up between decelerating through a pitch shot that shanks off the toe of the club, or blading my bread-and-butter 100yd shot (perfect distance with my GW).

The 18th at my home course is a par-4 with a slight curve to the left and an approach shot over water.  Too many times I've bombed a drive leaving me less than 100 in and caught that shot thin or fat because the water was in my head.  It can be a real card killer.

Screwing up a lag putt. I expect my second putt to be close enough to take the pressure off, when its not I'm pissed at myself. Shouldn't have to be superman to get it with 2-3 feet from a distance.

2perfect practice putts, step to the ball, stroke, catch the ground balls rolls 4ft foward. Putters ends up in the bushes followed by many profanities.

Not hitting my chip shot to 2-3 feet of hole. Anything less is a bad shot. To me that's worse than 3 putting

The 60-90 yard approach after completely over-clubbing on the previous shot.  There's nothing more frustrating than hitting a perfect drive on a short par 4 and having to take a 75% swing, knowing full well that I should have hit a hybrid and left an solid 105-115 which is a much easier shot for me. I'm not a super long hitter either, so I'm never going for par 5s in two, but I'm always going Driver/5I to about 60-70 yards, when I should be going Hybrid/6I then PW or 9I from 115-140.

The worst has to be what happened to me yesterday...

Par 5, crush my tee shot around 290, which left me about 215 out... Know that I have a chance to be on the green in two with my hybrid, and then yank it straight left!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMMMMNNNNN IT!!!!!!

I had several rounds in a row last season where I would have between 175-215 into par 5s and duff a long iron.  Incredibly frustrating.  At one point I counted 5-6 par 5s in a row where this happened (only counting par 5s where I had an iron in my hand with a chance to reach in two).

dubbing the short pitch/chip shot - doesn't have to be close, but I want a clean hit - straight reference to the "what's your most inconsistent shot" thread

  • decelerating and just mishit
  • or the blade/skull

both stink equally

Not sure If this counts as a "blow it" shot but the result is less than pleasing.  I hate driving into a water hazard that splits the fairway.  I can stand bad drives that end up in the water, but when I knock one right down the pipe only to have it roll into a water hazard I get very frustrated.

Yeah, that's like fall golf or night golf with lights. Smack a beauty dead center and never find it.

    • I  had to return to boast  just a  bit. Everyone  knows  i thought  this  is  how the Championship should  be decided. Match play is far  better than stroke  play to determine a  champion and  its  much closer to most sports  playoffs. Lose and you are  out.     Promotion, relegation and match play: PGA Tour unveils radical new structure The PGA Tour has revealed its planned changes to its competitive model, schedule and playoffs, changes that will be more substantial than any in the Tour's half-century-long history. How will the PGA Tour series wrap up its season? The current PGA Tour playoff format consists of three stroke-play events, concluding with the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Starting in 2028, the Tour's playoff system will feature match play, and will rotate through various courses. Further details will be revealed at this year's Tour Championship next month.
    • Posted a couple swings here. I think my attempt to blend the movement still results in a more “around” back swing?
    • I never heard dislike for them.  From my perspective, they are just like any other club. Though, they were always probably over-priced, until recently as other club manufacturers have been raising prices the past 5+ years. You had to wait for them to go on sale, which you can get them closer to other club manufacturers.  They sell good clubs. Nothing crazy..
    • Why do so many people dislike PXG clubs and constantly criticize them? All the folks at my club and especially online, I never hear good things about them except from people who bought them and defend them. They look fine to me but curious is there some sort of quality issue or is it just stereotyping the buyers.
    • I have the LM1 launch monitor and I’ve been very impressed. I agree with your assessment and it’s very accurate for me and ease of use is wonderful. The price point of $199 is very hard to beat with this form factor and performance. I was previously using a PRGR.
