Did anyone hear his public appology? I can't stand the guy and hope he gets the jail time he deserves and would be glad if he never plays in the NFL again. That said, he did actually sound sincere. The only place where he lost me was when he went to the God card. Maybe this has caused him to find religion, but that's not something I want to hear in an appology. It makes it sound a little hollow. Otherwise he stood there and admitted his mistakes, appologized not only for his mistakes, but for lying about them. He did not have a script and he did not make excuses. He took full responsibility. I was fully prepared to say B.S. and call it a farce, but I think he did a good job.

I still hope he does his time.

Yeah, I had ESPN Radio on my computer going at the time (as I do now). I thought he did pretty well. Whoever convinced him not to let a PR firm anywhere near the statement may have given him his career back. I absolutely agree he needs to go to jail. And, I definitely won't shed a tear if he is finished as a football player.

I missed Arthur Blank's statement while I was at lunch. Anyone catch it? It couldn't have been too great since I haven't hear any replay yet.

I saw Vick's statement. I was impressed with him. He took full responsibility and blames no one. He agreed to take what ever punishment he gets and made no excuses while he looked like he realized how much he messed up and the severity of it.
AS a non-Vick fan, I will have to say by his facial and body demeanor, he was no just blowing smoke to just get by. He really meant it.
I have changed my views of his whole situation. After he does his court time he should have some kind of suspension, but I think he should be able to play in the NFL again after serving all his jail and suspension.

just saw his apology, for the first time i actually felt bad for the guy. Dont get me wrong, he deserves every day that he spends in jail for what he did; but until now i didnt think he felt any remorse for what he did. His apology seemed sincere and honest; i think hell find his way back to the nfl some day.

I won't go as far as saying I feel bad for him. He is still a piece of trash. Remember he had about 100 million reasons to sound sincere. The question I have is does his appology stem from true remorse for what he did or from the fact that he was realistically looking at never playing again and had to do damage control. My kids can sound sincere when they screw up, but are they sorry they did wrong or sorry they got caught.

My vote is: Vick feels no remorse at all for what he did.
He's sorry he got caught and was in lose/lose situation with the Feds. Now he's "remorseful"? . . . No way -- he & his legal team are doing damage control by trying to appear remorseful!

Did anyone see the ESPN special on this? There are a lot of black folks that feel like Vick is treated unfairly. I think that black people are often profiled inappropriately, but I JUST DON'T SEE IT with Vick. . . he seems like a guy that deserves some jail time.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but the few minutes I did watch made me sad that those people live here in Atlanta. Actually, kinda sad some of them live at all. To defend the indefensible is to condone the very same. Don't get me wrong, I'm a native Atlantan and a Falcons season ticket holder, I just don't think you can pin his treatment on his race. He did what he did, knew it was wrong yet still didn't care. He only showed any contrition at all after being caught.

    • Day 20: Did 30 minutes after getting home from work, before kid's baseball practice. This session was piecing out the new hip move in transition, doing 2-3 rehearsals from the top, and then hitting a ball from between P5/P6. Did another 45 minutes after baseball practice and dinner. Did 30 more minutes of what I did earlier, and then about 15 minutes of full swings trying to incorporate athletically.
    • Day 296: did a stack session.
    • Day 126: 5/1/24 Putting and chipping practice. Slow motion swings with 8-iron.
    • #4 - 1st hole at Kingsbarns I rolled in a 15 footer for birdie. Showed my caddie an old guy could still play a bit. #3 - 18th hole at Basin Harbor Club, Vergennes, VT. I had played matches against my nephew over the years. He had never beaten me although through the years he had become a long hitting teenage golfer. I was 1 up but bunkered near the 18th green. My nephew had a long putt for birdie. I splashed out of the bunker to 4 feet. He rolled his first putt close and I gave him the par. Sadly for him, I rolled mine in and won our last match. He went off to college and then Europe for a Ph. D. It was our last match. Family champion forever. #2 - First playoff hole in the City of Livonia, MI “65 & Over” division. I rolled in an 8 footer that broke about 4-5 inches. #10 Whispering Willows GC. #1  18th hole at TPC Prestancia, Sarasota, FL. A 4 foot slicing putt for par to beat the prior year’s Member/Guest winners and win the Member/Guest with my father at his club. I was having heart palpitations as I played the final hole solo when my father put two in the water. There was never a better golf sight for me when that ball dove into the hole.
    • Finally, wedges getting somewhere. This one a punch gap from 87 yards to about 12 feet. Contact and ball flight absolute restaurant quality. It's nice when grass comes back.
