For the most part, they really are. By far the most birdies of any hole and nothing over a bogey.

Landing area on #16. The fairway bamks up to the right but it is very narrow and nobody will try to hit it up there. It's a short iron over the quarry to the hole, so they will most probably play shor

That's how it will play when the movie is made.

No.  Unless they need hip boots to walk, the USGA would never invoke that local rule.

Ans so much for the dire weather forecast this afternoon.  They may not finish the second crossover, but they should get close.

This ESPN coverage is absolutely awful. Tons of commercials, Chris Berman, lots of cutaways, little knowledge, and when they do start actually showing golf, it's 75% putts from guys under par. I want tee and approach shots!! I want course descriptions!!

Only for embeded balls. I saw Polter was in that heavy fescew stuff, and his ball was imbedded in the mud below.

Living in Pennsylvania you, of course, know all about our Florida weather. I've only lived here 30 years so what do I know.

Here's something more which I'm sure you know - sinkholes are only a central Florida phenomenon due to it residing on limestone rock about 50 feel above sea level. Limestone is unstable & caves in on occasion. Here in SoFla we don't have sinkholes since we're at sea level. Therefore our only natural 'disaster' is...hurricanes.

But of course you know all that.

His short game is crappy right now.

Edit: so I stepped away from the feed just before they called it.  Did Rory and Tiger not putt out yet?  Tiger putting for bogie to go to +2, and Rory for birdie?

From this former south Florida resident, that's enough stuff, please. :)

I commented on this in the chat room, but I am kind of tired of Tiger playing up his "injuries." Maybe it's the hockey fan in me, but when he shakes his wrist I almost rather he kept it to himself and even a moderate display comes off as "showy" to me. Like "look at me, I'm hitting bad shots because my wrist feels funny." Then when he's asked about it he'll play it off like he's a tough guy.

Anyway, at +2 (IF he makes the four footer), he's going to have to scratch out an awfully good rest of round one to get back into it. I don't think he can come back from a 74 or 75 in the first round.

That's a different LR, just an extension of the regular embedded ball rule, Rule 25-2.  I think that you will see that go away too if they get one day without much rain.  One thing about the USGA and the R&A;, they only implement local rules in case of real necessity.  It's my opinion that the Tour pampers the players too much.  I prefer the USGA philosophy to let the players play the course as they find it.

This time I actually think Tiger is really injured. He winced the second his club hit the ground. Not as he followed through or holding the pose, but as soon as he made contact.

    • I think you keep searching for different things when in reality you need to find your priority thing and work on that until it’s no longer the priority thing.
    • Oops. I should have said 'discarded cigarette lighter' rather than a walnut.
    • I have been doing a drill where I swing with my right arm only (right-handed golfer). In taking the club back slowly with my right arm only to the top and pausing there, I have found that the only real efficient way to initiate the downswing is for the lower body/hips to rotate towards the target. The lower body is needed to tug/pull the upper body/right arm. The momentum created on the downswing of the right arm does not have the left arm to get in the way and stall the swing. I find that the body opens up fully to the target without thought or concentrated effort involved. So practice a full, slow backswing with a pause at the top with the right arm only. Then do a good downswing and the body will be facing the target and there is also some good lag and forward shaft lean.
    • I would suggest putting up a swing video so that people can assist you better.  In general, very few people can generally have too much hip or shoulder turn.  Most have too little
