Don't like the look of them, so I don't wear them. But I don't really care if you want to look like an idiot on the course.

The worst part of this style hat is when they are worn large enough to cover the ears.  I always think of a little kid wearing his fathers hat.

I like them... I really like the 5950 baseball hats and thats what they remind me of... I tend to bend the bill a little bit but on some people I think the flat bill works really well.

My late father was a plumber and would get free "gimme" caps from supply houses.  They always were cheap and looked like crap because he sat on them or they got grease on them.  If he didn't curve the bill, I thought he looked like Goober Pyle.  So I would always fix the hat or get him a new hat.

When they are flat or place off center, it just looks dumb to me.  I see kids now leaving the tags on.  It is like having Minnie Pearl come back from the grave.

I have a flat billed Fowler-esque cap, but I bend it to be not-so flat.

I like my visors much straighter across the top with minimal curve.  Fitted hats get a little curve.  Hats with straps on the back get a lot of curve.

If you're wearing one, I wouldn't care one way or the other.  Also wondering why the Oklahoma State guys are the flat billed boys.  I didn't see very many flat bills at all at OSU.

Not many things to do in Stillwater but practice your douchery.

Better than going to Lowsy-ana State U and enrolling in a course that is taught by your uncle, TA'd by your second cousin, and sitting next to your third cousin and falling in love with her before realizing that you were raised in the same trailer park and are related.

No, you're confused. That's Arkansas. Understandable mistake. Just don't make it again.

Baton Rouge, right?  I believe that's "red stick" in French.  I guess you'd get a "red stick" when the sharp-toothed alligators are more attractive than the ladies.

But really half my family is LSU, you've got to respect the program over there.  Great school and I've never met a Tiger I didn't like.

I suppose you would. To date, the alligators have not surpassed the coeds in attractiveness. We'll pray it stays that way.

The better half, obviously.

Hey.  I hope that joke didn't cross the line.  I'm trying to keep them clean - as clean as Baton Rouge, at least.

I guess I really don't care at all. I never check out a dudes outfit and critique it because I'm not a fashion designer. I wear what I like and everyone else should do that as well.

However, I will make fun of anyone that I see wearing Jorts of any kind, on or off a golf course.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
