Jorts...lol, should be illegal.

I'll probably catch some crap for this, but same goes for cargo shorts. No one needs to carry that much sh*t with them.

I wear cargo shorts sometimes, but they're not the big bulky ones...they're just typical fashion-y ones from Express. And they're uncomfortable as all hell to golf in, but the only shorts I have. Haha.

Saw some basketball shoes posing as golf shoes with cleats on Golfsmith's website.  You can get nearly every type of hat (Titleist Ping Callaway) in flat bill now.  There was a flat bill Titleist at golfsmith in the FJ/Titleist section and I about puked.  If we're not careful, urban "style" will creep into golf like it has creeped into our public schools

Now that I don't get. Is someone out there trying to make a half court shot for a prize at the turn?

Those are simply Nike's version of a rain shoe. Those are the Zoom Bandons. They have nothing to do with basketball or anything "urban". Sheesh people we cant have it both ways, everyone wants to grow the game but only if you wear the hats we like and your shorts can't have too many pockets. I think flat Brim hats look rather silly but Im not gonna look at anyone sideways becasue they have one on. When Im on the course the last thing on my mind is what the next grown man is wearing.

They very much look like basketball shoes, which when worn while not playing basketball, could be considered "urban" right along with flat billed caps...ESPECIALLY with the stickers still on.

Serious question... Why leave the sticker/tag on?  I never understood that...

Is that so you can five finger discount it easier?

They look like cleats to me, those can very well pass for lineman or linebacker football cleats. I've even seen baseball players wear high top or mid cleats. But Im not here to debate whats urban or not because that would be way off topic.

Fair enough. I couldn't care less what people wear to the course as long as they're courteous and respectful to the other people there. I've seen guys in tank tops who were awesome, and guys in full golf attire who were pricks.

That makes sense. Though if it's raining that much I don't want to be out there. However perfect for winter golf here, lots of muddy spots if you don't keep it on the fairway after the snow melts.

This. If it's raining (or has rained) so much that I need specialized shoes to play golf, I'm not playing golf.

Totally agree. I did read a review on these shoes a while back and everyone seemed to agree they are great for keeping you dry even in puddles, but you really have to make an effort to shift your weight. I guess do to the high top nature of the shoe. That was enough for me, I dont need anything making it harder to get to my left side.

I never realized how important shoes are in wet weather until I played a round with a couple friends, and afterwards they were bitching about their feet and socks just being soaking wet. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there like "wtf are you guys talking about? My feet are dry as a bone"

I hadn't even noticed quite how soggy it was. And I just have run of the mill FJ's.

Yeah I've never had that problem either. I have an old pair of last year's TW shoes that I wear when it's wet and never had an issue.

Thanks for pointing out that they are Nikes and made for the rain.  I couldn't tell that myself, even though I found them on Golfsmith and took the time to post the picture.

That being said, I don't care if they're made by Adidas and they're made for the month of MARCH only, they're freakin UGLY and they look like basketball shoes.  Yes they have urban appeal, and yes they are ugly in my opinion.  And yes, I believe that they appeal to the same person that an oversized flat bill hat appeals to.

I know plenty of impressionable young golfers at the courses I play who are growing up to be exceptional gentlemen and not dressing like rap stars with oversized flat bill hats and giant high top sneakers.

    • Hey, thanks for the feedback. I do lift weights but I’m also adding yoga or Pilates for mobility and flexibility to my routine.
    • Day 18: 2026.01.20 Continuing work on arm raise during backswing. Starting to feel less weird, especially the slower I go. Looking like a busy week so might be the weekend before I can hit some balls.
    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
