+1....!

I watched the replay after leaving when they got to 17 ... whatafinish!

58 yards ... into the cup. Zach's putting seemed clutch through the final round.

TIger and his putting speed and reads ... if his read wasn't off by a minuscule amount, his speed was off.

35 putts on Saturday ... Sunday?

I think Zach Johnson is poised to have a great year. He hasn't missed a cut since Merion, has top 10's in the last two Majors,  and he has gone from 31 to 9 in the WGR. And outplayng Tiger on Sunday can't hurt the psyche.

Zach blows hot and cold over his career ... it's little things ... I remember around 2009-10 or so, he held his putter so that the shaft leaned back, and it took 5 months for him to change it ... but over the last few years, he has showed up more consistently, so perhaps he is not as stubborn about changes now, and will have another great year.

At the risk of starting another Tiger controversy I believe Tiger just started "counting his chickens" too soon when Zach had to take a drop on 18.  Tiger was not expecting a playoff and never got in the "I'm in a playoff" state of mind.  As a result he got beat.  Kind of simple and has happened to a lot of players (usually in match play) but we just don't expect this from Tiger.  I won't argue this with anyone as not being a mind reader I can't prove this was the situation, but it is what I believe happened.

I think Tiger's state of mind was fine.  He saw Zach hole out and made a great up and down from the sand on 18 in regulation.

he held his putter so that the shaft leaned back,

i noticed that this weekend, i didnt know if it was the camera angle or what, but he appears to still be doing this.
