I don't know Phil personally but he comes off as a good guy on television.  That said, until all the facts come out, he's innocent until proven guilty (except by those who don't like him).

It's very possible Walters gave him Phil the tip and Phil acted on it without any knowledge that Walters had received insider information from Icahn.  If the investigation concludes that Walters acted on insider information but Phil didn't know, then Phil probably testifies in court against Walters and at worst pays a fine.

Phil has balls.  He put a couple hundred grand into options that were set to be worthless in a matter of days.  Instead they multiply in value.  He plays with money like his shot selection on par 5's!

More seriously, without emails or testimony from someone, there will be no way to prove Phil broke any laws.  Good timing isn't illegal.

All this, and this goes for the other post re: Phil, is all Speculation at this time, and nothing more. Wait until the legal system has run it's course, then comment...sheesh.

That's true, it's possible even likely Phil didn't even know it was insider information. He could have just been trusting his "financial advisor".

As far as Dean Foods, the New York Times reported that authorities are pursuing a theory that a source tipped Walters off about the company's plan to offer its WhiteWave Foods subsidiary in an initial public offering in 2012. It is unclear what prompted Walters and Mickelson to trade; however, shares of Dean Foods went up 41 percent the day after the company officially announced the news. Icahn is not connected to the Dean Foods trading.

Mickelson has denied any wrongdoing in either instance. No charges have been filed.

LOL, no they never would, nor would the Daily News, Washington Post, ABC, NBC, CBS or FOX.  Seems who's first to report something is more important than reporting the facts so overall the news industry in this country is worthless.
