Not often there is this much interest in a Thursday morning of a tournament.

Tiger rocking last place with Spieth.

Haha, there isn't even a thread for the BMW International Open which has...

Miguel Jimenez, Mikko Illonen, Henrik Stenson, John Daly, Victor Dubuisson, Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer...

Tiger is just THAT fascinating.

distance is there, 332 to the fairway...

Short game is very off. Bogey again. This is ugly now.

For this tournament Patrick Reed stole Tiger Woods' talent like the Monstars in Space Jam. You cannot convince me otherwise.

It's a bloodbath for Eldrick right now.

Some guys might be watching on C-Band wildfeeds... I know they post the co-ordinates on certain websites.  Galaxy 3C seems to be sending this feed out via C-Band, and there were some Tiger Woods' press conferences earlier on Ku-Band.

Didn't he say "at least my short game will be sharp" for now? I guess it's a good thing he took his practice reps to a real event or we'd be watching this performance at a major.

Don't panic, remember ( like the last 5 years) its a "process" " I'm getting close" " I only play if I thnk I can win" " Sean and I have feel positive from this and we now have something to work on" and more "Trajs and reps" I know, I'm a little cynical here, but I give him Kudos for coming out and playing. I think the primary motivator was the $$$ charity. some of these sponsors are touch and go in this economy, if they don't see a return of their invested dollars, come budget time next year they can " re-evaluate things. If you recall there was abig press conference held announcing this partnership with quicken and the PGAtour. Without him being there it impacts the entire tournament in a highly populated area. This may also explain why he's only playing this tourney- leading into the British open ( The open Championship)

Not sure what he said, but it's the complete opposite. Based on the stats I'm seeing his full shots look really really good, everything else....no

You're right, but he did say in an interview that when he could only do chips and putting for a while his short game would be extra sharp. I think the true greatness of Tiger comes out when his short irons and wedge approaches get up to snuff, however, and it looks like he's awful there right now. He always seems to struggle with distance control on shorter approaches when he's "tweaking" or coming back. I remember at a tournament in 2011 he absolutely flushed a sand wedge, posed like he was about to hit it inside two feet, and watched it go over the green into deep rough. He turned around in disbelief and said to Joe LaCava "Did I just hit sand wedge 150? I can't believe I hit SW 150. How is that possible?" or something like that. Looks like a lot of that right now.

Another birdie, back to 4 over and no longer in last :)

It's too bad he couldn't take advantage of the par 5. He'd have a good little streak going.

Three feet from another birdie on #8 now too.

I guess he realized his short game sucked, so he's leaving himself without any short game shots lately.

Ugh

3 over, not too terribly bad...

It was a really nice comeback and it made it even more special when Patrick Reed had bogeys on 17 and 18.

I'm not a Reed hater, it's just Tiger looks better in the Sunday red. :-D

Absolutely.....hell, there are at least 5 or 6 guys behind him right now. :-D

Honestly though, he threw up 4 birdies.  I'd expect him to do at least the same tomorrow with a lot fewer bogies.  I wouldn't be surprised to see 67 tomorrow.....

    • Day 292: light day today. Mirror work, working on getting my hips more open in the downswing.
    • Day 135 (27 Apr 24) - played Bradford Creek today while waiting for the missus fly in from her extended visit with the grands.  Good day to stay focused as it was a hurry up (groups pressing from behind) and wait (groups taking their time ahead)…a good day to stay mentally in the game - play the shot and not get frustrated in the waiting…
    • Day 122: 4/27/24 Supposed to be a Stack training day but I was beat after yard work today. Practiced chipping and putting at The Creek. The practice green is pretty slow but the session went well.
    • Went to the range today and was cursing myself when I got there as I realized I forgot my phone. I added an earlier wrist hinge to the short backswing I was using last time practicing and ball strikes were really good for the most part. I'm heading back to Boston Thursday to see friends and family and have a couple of rounds planned so I'm hoping to keep this feeling.  Yesterday morning I weighed in at 232. My goal had been 230 but maybe now it's 220. I'll have to think about that. I feel so much better without the extra 90 lbs. from 2 years ago. Still a softl slightly less protruding belly so it might be time to go hard on eating better. Work in progress.
    • Day 7- Went to the range and hit a bucket. Also did some chipping and putting.
