Though the golfsmith near me uses GC2 that can show dispersion areas like trackman and flightscope. Maybe I can go in when it is slow and rent out a simulator for an hour.

Mine does, as well. I didn't realize that you can rent the simulators at Golfsmith. I was just going to go there some time with clubs and pretend I was comparison shopping.

I don't think I can  That is why I said maybe.

I could also ask and see if they are willing to let me.

So what is the best way to go about developing the Shot Zones. I suspect I might have to go out onto the course with one of the last tee times and find a golf hole here I can hit a lot of shots with out be interrupted, and loosing golf balls.

Has anyone actually plotted there Shot Zones, and how did you go about doing it?

I was wondering the same thing. I spent a few hours in there last Friday hitting irons and drivers. It would be nice to rent the GolfTec room for an hour.

Seeing as how there's not a trackman/flightscope near me that I know of, this book inspired me to buy a rangefinder so as to best implement chapter 7 and chapter 19 page 149.

I'm planning on mapping mine out this week.

And I think you hit the nail on the head.  The sun sets around 8:30 here and yesterday I called a course to see what time they were letting people out until and they said 6:30.  So, I figure that gives me roughly 2 hours to plot my shot zones.

Yeah I had the exact same thought. I was going to call the golf course and book the last tee time available. There are few par 5's that I could spend some time hitting shots. I really don't feel like putting a TON of ball marks on the green.

You get balls on the green?  How does one do that if they're not chipping or pitching? :hmm:

Kittyhawk is usually wide open in the evenings. The practice hole could work for wedges (for me at least). We could meet up there some evening and work in tandem.

I was thinking about going onto the Falcon for this. It might be less crowded in the evenings being a par 3/4 course. Though there are a few par 5's on the hawk that could work really well. Like the 2nd par 5 on the back nine. That is wide open.

Yea, I am thinking Friday evening. The weather is suppose to be nice, and I am sure people would rather spend a Friday evening away from the course. Monday's to Thursdays seem to be league nights out there.

I used to go out there about any evening after 7:30 or so and it was wide open. If I see Jana tonight, I'll ask her if we could do this. She knows me pretty well and probably won't mind.

Added: There are some really nice green spaces in my neighborhood for this too. Might be hard to find balls though.

Out of town this weekend though.
