Hi

I took an Aimpoint Express class last Saturday. The instructor said he'd email me a password to login to the Aimpoint forum. I'm still waiting for a password because he said Mark's out of town. When I checked out the Aimpoint forum there was a message saying that the forum was being deactivated. I also read somewhere that the replacement site was Facebook but you still needed a password to login.

Is this information accurate and is the Facebook site worth while ? I have a couple of question but I don't want to keep bothering the instructor I took my Aimpoint class from.

Thanks

Ralph

The AimPoint forum went Facebook-exclusive a while ago. I don't remember you needing a password for the AimPoint Facebook forum, but you do need someone to accept your request to join. (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's all right.)

What @jamo said - it's Facebook now. you have to be added to the group.

I'd contact your instructor.

To All

Thanks.

Is this the right page. https://www.facebook.com/AimPointGolf

My daughter signed me up for facebook several years ago. We did this because she want out of the country for a vacation, and we used fb to save on the phone bills. I don't use fb at all, so sorry for the dumb question.

I'd like to know what I'm talking about before I contact the pro I took the class from. I'm getting the feeling he can't be bother with fb or he would have known that Aimpoint moved to facebook.

I'd really like to submerge myself in this technique, and I figured if I surrounded myself with  others who used it, I'd pick up something useful.

I've got the same questions.  Also, the link that Ralphs007 posted above goes to yet a third FB page.

I requested to join the AP student group and didn't hear back, so I emailed the "contact" address on the AimPoint web site.  Mark Sweeney emailed me back today, and said that he added me to the Student Group, which is the active group.

So if you haven't been accepted yet, I'd suggest sending an email to the aimpoint address.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
