I'm not on twitter, and maybe call me old fashioned, but I believe that by definition someone's goofy posts and antics on twitter do not constitute a personality, since you know, a personality has to be expressed IN PERSON and all.

Yet you judge him based on even less information, purely by how he acts on the course, in interviews and what little information you get from articles written about him?

uhh, that's not how it works. Technically, there's no such thing as having no personality, but it's ok to think what you what suits you.

And for all the folks saying it's common for players to not watch their respective peers play once their season is done, you clearly miss the point of why the RC is supposed to be different and why I take issue with public indifference to the event from former players. Europe and many many of its former players are publicly engrossed by and supportive of the event, meanwhile we've got this clown. Night and day, but I'm tired of explaining my position on here.

Care to elaborate on how it's suppose to be different? Patriotism? When/if it ever gets to the same level as the soccer world cup, then everyone will to watch.

I try to live in the real world, not the twitter world, so I try to base my opinions of people based on how they conduct themselves in said real world. I don't think this is that unreasonable nor do I do think it should be that objectionable if I don't care for the guy. We've all got golfers we don't like, he's near the top of my list for some of the reasons I've mentioned.

You are entitled to not care for the guy.  If you choose to make your reasons know, as you have, others are then entitled to consider whether your reasons justify your conclusion.

It is not objectionable for you to hold your opinion, but neither is it objectionable for other people to disagree and express that disagreement.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

The guy is hurt, decompressing from the grind of golf and he makes an offhand remark that he didn't watch the Ryder Cup because he was busy doing other things and it is worth four pages on a thread? Really?

Get a life. That's what Jason Dufner is busy doing.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
